Located at 28 Tomewin Street, Currumbin, Queensland, Australia .nThis is a fantastic place to come, especially the kids. There’s a lot of hands on experience that you can do with the animals. Including the famous parrot feeding. That is really cool, for adults and children. There’s also feeding kangaroos etc. The koala encounters are wonderful, lots of photo opportunities and they are so cute. I really loved the animal hospital. The whole sanctuary is very interactive and family oriented and this made the day that much more enjoyable and special. The Aboriginal Dancers were great, I really liked them. There’s also some wonderful Ranger Presentations so be sure to check out where and when they will be taking place because you don’t want to miss out. They are really informative and interesting. Don’t miss the Free Flight Bird Show, it’s amazing. There’s a cafeteria near the entrance that’s convenient for lunch break or just getting a drink. Prices are a little pricey though. There’s good toilet facilities including for disabled. The sanctuary is very accessible for people with mobility issues. There’s plenty of seats available to sit and relax. There’s a Treetop Challenge complete with 14 zip-lines, if you’re a thrill seeker you should look into this. You have to book online before you go through, it’s limited spots available.nThe admission price to the sanctuary is -nGeneral Admission -nAdult $70.00nConcession $55.00nChildren 3-13 years $50.00nInfant Under 3 years $0.00nFamily 2 Adults, 2 Children $215.00nTreetop Challenge -nAdult $115.00nChildren $90.00nConcession $100.00nFamily 2 Adults, 2 Children $390.00nThere are other packages available online.nI would most definitely recommend visiting Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. It’s a wonderful day out when on the Gold Coast. Thumbs Up!!!
Amazing Experience, But Prices Have Skyrocketed!nnCurrumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is a fantastic place to visit, especially with kids! The park is well-maintained, the staff are friendly, and the animal encounters are incredible. Seeing the wildlife up close, especially the koalas, kangaroos, and birds, makes it a memorable experience every time.nnHowever, the prices have gone through the roof—especially for the koala photo experience. I remember it being almost half the price before COVID, but now it’s significantly more expensive. While it’s still an amazing experience, the price jump is hard to ignore.nnThat said, it’s still a great day out for families and animal lovers. If you haven’t been before, it’s definitely worth a visit! Just be prepared for the higher costs.
Great place to see Australian wildlife up close. I liked that it was a little more interactive than other zoos. Not all the animals are behind glass. You can feed kangaroos and walk through bird enclosures. The bird show was cool. Fun day trip for your vacation
This is a good experience as long as you don’t go expecting it to be a full blown zoo. There are lots of Australian wildlife and access to them is fairly open - that is parrot feeding, kangaroos etc. There are also large numbers of koala enclosures and the animal hospital was a particular highlight. We encountered more lizards than I’ve come across ever and the pelican and eel feeding was a fun watch. Be sure to watch the birds in flight show as it is excellent!nThe facility is large and the signage to get around is poor. Normally facilities of this size have numbering to assist in getting around.nFor those with younger kids expect a lot of walking between enclosures. They are lovely and large- and as a result spread out. There is a train but it periodically doesn’t run due to the bird shows.nOverall a fun day out. If I were local I’d likely buy the annual pass to also allow kids to do the tree tops experience.
This place was really good! There are so many native Australian animals to see, and you can even take pictures with some of them or hold them. I highly recommend holding a floofy koala for an up-close encounter. Be sure to catch the free bird show, too! The variety of birds is amazing, and some even swoop down toward the crowd. The only downside is how large the area is, which means a lot of walking especially tough on really hot days
