This was an INCREDIBLE experience. Came here for a birthday celebration and we were treated like royalty! heather is so knowledgeable and a gracious host. She made us feel at home & sophisticated even in a setting none of us were accustomed to. Food & tea were fabulous and the little nuggets of advice she gave us throughout our time there were great! 10/10 would recommended to ANYONE!! :
It was a fine experience. Cute place and tasty food, but definitely not worth $96 for 2 people. We got 1 pot of tea that was refilled once with the same tea we could only get 1 kind to share between the 2 of us, mini scones with a few berries, lemon curd, and a sort of clotted cream on the side, then the food pictured. Nothing was bad but the breads and the sweets tasted and looked like they came from Kroger's. Nothing is baked in house. Again, it was tasty, but the price should absolutely be lower for the food we got, or higher quality for that price. In reply: I didn't say anything negative about the food, it tasted fine. I am "using my words to help" potential future guests better understand what they will experience. That's the point of a review: to share your experience with other people.
My mother and I had a wonderful time at Queen’s Library Tea Room! We attended their Mother’s Day Tea Experience and they welcomed us with live music and create your own floral bouquets. The interior was eclectic and cozy and the owners, Clarissa and Daniel were amazing. They told us stories about the tea room’s history as well as the difference between high tea and low tea. Their Assam tea was our favorite - it was light and refreshing. We look forward to returning!
Been here for high tea with a friend, with a group, attended special events, & hosted my daughter's bday and a baby shower too! Heather is a blessing to have her sharing such a special part of her upbringing of high teas in England with our community! She imports the Queens faves and loves to have others experience connection, conversations, reflection, & experience special occasion family/friendship/dates make your reservation!
The Queen’s Library is a special, quirky place with excellent tea, sandwiches and pastries. We were excited to see a new cafe which provides a high English tea experience. The staff are largely family and are clearly dedicated to service, as we went for Mother’s Day and have had two thank-you notes and updates sent to use since visiting. Try this place out for a family or intimate affair.
We had the best time at Queen Bee & Co. Heather was a fantastic hostess - warm and welcoming. The teas were outstanding and the food was scrumptious! We loved the atmosphere, with the delicate china, beautiful table setting, and eclectic artwork in the tea room. We can't wait to come back!
I have been to Queen Bee and Company numerous times and each time the experience has been great! I love to go with family or friends to celebrate an occasion or just for a lunch date with a friend. The tea options are plentiful and always delicious. The food is delicious and an appropriate amount for a light lunch. The owner, Heather personally served us each time and is very helpful in deciding what tea to pick. Reservations are easy to make. I highly recommend you check out this gem the next time you are looking for a unique experience in Richmond!
We enjoyed our experience at Queen Bee and Company very much. The venue is warm and inviting, but bright with art from local artists on the walls. The tea was awesome and the owner gave us some history and details about the tea we were drinking. With the tea came a variety of yummies. The scones with lemon curd were a perfect start. The next courses of tea sandwiches and sweets were served with a smile and tasted as good or better than they looked. I can highly recommend this venue for a party like we did or even a special afternoon.
Very cute place in a great location! Hosted a few ladies there and overall had a pleasant experience. It was easy to book, and I actually really liked the ability to prepay. The only reason this isn't 5 stars is because the service onsite was not great. There were numerous times we tried to flag down the server for help and she just didn't notice us. She wasn't doing it on purpose she was just a bit oblivious. At one point our tea for the table just sat empty for almost 15 min. Also waited an inordinately long time for the second course. At the end we felt a bit rushed by the staff which was ironic. I also noticed they didn't have any clotted cream. They didn't mention it when they put the lemon curd on the table, so finally I asked and the server said they were out. It might seem like a small thing, but having scones without the cream is disappointing for folks used to having a traditional afternoon tea. I have had afternoon tea in a variety of places and contexts, including the UK. The food overall was tasty and filling. The savories especially were great. They managed to make multiple people at the table enjoy egg sandwiches who normally are not fans of them, so that was no small feat! The sweets were just okay, but overall satisfying. The tea selections were divine and wound up being our favorite part. I would go back if someone invited me, but will likely explore other options in the area.
We thoroughly enjoyed this authentic English Tea Time experience! The food was amazing and I look forward to returning again.
