Thank you so much to Manager Ishanka going above and beyond to accommodate my Dad for a 6 week respite, we would have been lost without her compassion, patience and care. Ishanka personally supplied and delivered a wheelchair to the hospital so Dad could be transported to Cumberland Aged Care which was such an act of kindness. Ishanka has made this very hard transition into aged care a little less heart breaking, I feel Dad will be in good hands. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Ishanka xxx
My mum has been at Cumberland View since 2022, and we highly recommend it. The nursing staff are always helpful, kind, and caring — anything we ask is addressed immediately. Their thoughtfulness shines through in the way they care for residents. Management are professional yet personable, and the facility is always clean and welcoming. The food is lovely, with great variety and a focus on health. The activities team is excellent: the entertainment is fun, colourful, and encourages residents to participate fully. But most importantly my mum has been very happy there and as a family that is all we ever want.
One of the nicest Nursing homes around. My mum has been a resident for about 3 years now and is very happy with what we thought was going to be a very traumatic and hard move.nThe best lifestyle team. Residents are always engaged and seem really happy and excited to get involved if they want to, but I notice they aren’t pushed if they don’t want to participate.nThe food is also top notch and overall very tasty and varied.nThe Physio team take their time with the residents and really have a focus on one-on-one care. If you could bring back the previous lady podiatrist who was working there six months ago there wouldn’t be much else one could improve, she was very caring and always took her time with mum.nI hope things continue like they are at Cumberland view.
If you are reading this post then obviously you are considering Aged Care for a loved one. My 92yo mum had been living in independent living at Cumberland View Retirement Village up to 2 weeks ago. Sadly she had a fall 2 weeks ago and ended up in hospital and we realised independent living was no longer an option. We arranged for our mum to move into respite at Cumberland View Aged Care a bit like a try before you buy scenario. Oh my, and where do we start. We had the lovely ‘Ish’ who helped us showing us units along with navigating this emotional process. Ish was the best and so helpful and so compassionate and definitely made this easier for my brother and I. On our first meeting, Ish realised we had not eaten due to the timing of our meeting and she asked if we wanted a coffee. My brother and I were close to starving and we were thinking a coffee would tide us over for a bit longer. We were grateful of Ish’s thoughtfulness when our coffee arrived along with a plate of sandwiches and biscuits and cheese which we both devoured. It was my mum’s first day today 24/4/24 and I am feeling mixed emotions and will be over first thing tmw. However, a heartfelt kudos to Cumberland View Aged Care who have supported us, and they are Ish champion, Joe manager, Matt maintenance guru, Domenic coordinator of her ward, Phebe who came looking for my mum to take her for dinner and the physio, and the activity team and everyone else who I have sadly forgotten their names. It’s been a big day but I am truly grateful of all of these people’s kindness! Thank you again.
We couldn’t be happier with mum’s placement at Cumberland View Aged Care facility. Mum is happy, she has a lovely room and feeling very settled. The staff have all been so supportive and helpful with mum. Thank you Ish for all your help answering my numerous queries. This whole process has been very easy and we feel blessed to have mum here.
