The Motel where I stayed recommended the Cumberland Hotel. PLEASE don’t go there for dinner as the steak was so tough the knife couldn’t cut it! The chips were soggy too! And the Staff agreed it didn’t look very appetising when I couldn’t eat the dinner! The manager gave me credit and the motel altered their dining out list. Went to the Railway Hotel instead which was fabulous!!
Ordered the chicken parma, chicken schnit and gravy & beef lasagne. Bit of a wait for the meals >30mins but good size and good quality pub feed made it worth it. Definitely be back next time we are in Castlemaine
Rare steak cooked rare. A rare occurrence these days. Beautifully tender. A thing of beauty. Good value as well.
Staff are always a little vague. If you have stuff that is cooked fresh like Parma, fish or steak it is good. But a lot of the menu comes in boil in a bag and is warmed in microwave.
Loved it. Great service, gorgeous food. Highly recommend. Do yourself a favour and try this country pub.
Visited last week and what a mistake that was. The food was bland, tasteless and presentation was poor. I must say I could've cooked a better gnocchi and that's saying something. Please employ chefs that can cook !!!!
It was difficult to find a pub open on New Years Day. The main bar was clean, spacious we had a party of 15 and the staff were friendly and able to cater for us.
Beautiful and Happy Place with Amazing caring staff, The Steak and Mushroom Sauce is mouth watering.
Friendly service Exellent meals huge servings cooked to perfection. Great atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Wonderful service from the young waiter Michael, he is a credit and such an asset to your establishment. Polite, courteous and engaging.
