Crown Palace

Really nice hotel in a great location. I had the city view which wasn’t that great but you can see the river views from the lift lobby and they are stunning. The room was a good size with a big comfy bed. Really nice bathroom but the shower’s water pressure left you a little disappointed. The staff are excellent. They really have great customer empathy and professional friendly attitudes. Would definitely stay here again.

Really nice hotel and amazing staff, couple of downsides but overall a lovely stay! We stayed in a casino river view room, absolutely stunning view of the city and river. Check in was a breeze. The room was comfortable and spacious. Bathroom was laid out well. Breakfast was a fantastic spread and for once - perfect bacon!!! Such a rarity to find at most hotels. Dive bar was small but amazing drinks. Parking is just a short walk away for $17 per exit. So essentially you could have a day or a week if you don't move the car for just $17! Downsides were hearing the people around us I'm sure if was above using the toilet quite clearly... And the noise from outside trams, cars, people going past. Earplugs fixed most of it thankfully Overall, would definitely stay again! Rooms: Choose the casino city river view side Walkability: Tram stop right outside if you need it but close to exhibition centre and casino Food & drinks: Breakfast had everything you could want and the drinks at the bar were perfect

This is now our favourite Melbourne hotel, the staff are ridiculously nice, nothing is too much trouble, they all go out of their way to make sure you feel welcome. Facilities are good especially for the price point. The breakfast is amazing value for money, really impressed and will be back for sure. Thanks team keep up the amazing work.

Absolutely terrible experience from check-in to check out and even well after check out with a random charge! Firstly our rooms were not available until close to 4pm. Secondly the Twin Room we had booked for my siblings well in advance and even called to ensure we secure it was not provided nor was it available. When we raised this with the front staff, they insisted that they were fully booked and at full capacity and that they could not accommodate any change. Even though we took added measures to secure the twin it was still subject to availability.. We stood at the front desk for almost an hour getting nowhere. Then we mentioned we wanted to speak to the manager to work something out and the front desk lady said "the manager will just tell you the same thing" When we met with the manager, she easily found us an available twin room. At this stage we were annoyed, exhausted but extremely relieved that our family could stay comfortably throughout our stay. After we checked out and were on the road to the airport, we got repeated calls from the hotel insisting that we come back immediately to settle the outstanding bill which we had already settled during checkout We told them over and over on the phone that it was already settled and we could provide a screenshot of the payment and also that we were on our way to the airport but the lady on the phone insisted on coming back. When we came back, the front desk lady mentioned that the other lady whom we checked out with gave us an incorrect amount and we still owed $75. We paid the $75 and rushed to the airport. A few days later we got a random charge of $1500 from the hotel - we called immediately to ask why they had talked that much from the account and they apologized and refunded the money. Truly the worst experience.

The room was amazing, it was very clean, tidy and modern. The view is unbeatable, the service was fantastic. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The gym was great. The buffet breakfast was perfect! Best family getaway we have had in many years, I couldn’t fault the place. Thank you guysRooms: 5/5

After staying at a few different hotels around Melb when travelling for work, I have settled on the Crowne Plaza as my go to! Rooms: Very comfortable and relatively modern. Have always been clean, air con controls work, beds very comfy and a mix of pillows. Staff: Always great - from the team at concierge to check in to house staff, they are always great. Requests are actioned really quickly and always with a smile. Location: Little bit away from the 'central' Fed Square part of town, but I really do not mind a tram or a walk. Easy access to South Bank and Docklands. While close to the train line, have never once heard one from the rooms.

This is not a five hotel or even close to it ! Our two night stay in room 439 was certainly one we won't repeat. There are pros and cons with all stays but I will try to list these and be as brief as possible but could go on and on about it. The Bad 1. Room nowhere near clean enough in fact bordering on filthy. 2. Room not serviced on second day and we had to actually request new toiletries and towels. 3. TV not working and when the reception was informed they did send someone to re-boot it, but there were three very bright back lights which made viewing nearly impossible. 4 . No mini bar facilities in room. Snacks or drinks. 5. River view was good with incessant screaming and hollering coming from the bar on the promenade we gathered going well past midnight. 6. Frayed iron cord which definitely has not been tagged and tested in a very long time. 7. The $40 per head buffet breakfast plus $5 extra for coffee would rate as the worst we have encountered. Poor service, toasters not working, cold food and a so called egg bar which has to be a joke. We cancelled the second mornings breakfast and had an unbelievably good breakfast at the airport for half the price. 8. The concierge does not answer the phone. There are other negatives but as I said previously I will try and be brief. The good 1. Shower was hot and powerful. 2. Hair dryer was good. 3. Magnifying mirror good. 4. Bed was comfortable. Overall an atrocious hotel and we will never stay there again.

Location is very good, quiet yet convenient. But there are multiple constructions going on around the hotel perimeter. Staff are friendly, helpful and professional. Need to improve cleanliness in room though, very dusty, fresh stain on coffee cups and the bathroom smells. Nonetheless, will still recommend.Rooms: 3/5

The overall experience was very poor for me. Stayed for 4 nights to attend a conference. The lift not working. The shower was a disaster. Water pressure good initially and then dripping. Took time for the water to warm up and then in no time the water was cold. Could not take a proper shower in the entire duration of my stay. Didn’t have bathrobe, shower slippers, no tissues next to the bed. Had to request everything. Was told this is due to “COVID-19”. Won’t be going back. There are many other better options around the city.

Stayed here for 4 nights . The second day the room was cleaned. Third night, we had stayed overnight with friends. When we returned after that, the used towels were still lying on the floor in the bathroom . Bathroom not cleaned . The used tea spoons were not changed. The bed sheets were not changed . The food tray that was ordered in room service remained outside the room in the corridor for two nights. Have never experienced this in our entire life if travel. One of the lifts didn’t work. The AC too didn’t work properly. We were very disappointed.
