Good location in Fed Square. Came late at night and staff very accommodating. Great place to watch the tennis on the various screens around the Square
We ordered seafoods with spices, but, what we got is a platter of honey and. Red chilly with sea food in it. On being asked we were told the waitress is a new one. Good explanation! We understand the place changed hands.
We don't winge and I never blog but I think I'm being ripped off. The Chinese New year Banquet. Well what can we say? Let's start with "sliced roasted suckling pig served with seasonal salad." 2x 3cmx1cm slices of pork on a slice of lettuce with some shredded spring onions. Pork was nice but the salad was pathetic. "Wok fried lobster....." my serve was ok but hers was really just a lot of shell until we complained and then a small change gave her at least something to eat. "Pawn pancake with chives...." was a chive pancake with stuff all prawn! And the pancake was really a soft taco better served at the local Mex cafe. Well, the king Brown mushroom was ok but the bokchoy was cooked in so much oil it could have lubricated my car for a year!! Inedible. Finally, the duck in the pancake. I thought the first pancake was ordinary but the second left it in its tracks. Duck was good but was only a mouth full.... no accoutrements? We wished we had been anywhere else but here ! At$108 a head we have been ripped off..... this was written by Richard not Debbie.
We went there in a party of 6 people for dinner on a Sat night. I think this restaurant has an Asian corner which is an area at the far end of the long restaurant where there were no carpet and the big floor to ceiling window look out on to steel beams and concrete walls rather as opposed to the Square. This small area was so noisy that you can't even hear yourself think and I noticed that all the other people there were Asians while the Anglos were seated out on the main floor with carpet with views over the Square. However, the most important thing was that the food was mediocre. For entree we had salt and pepper calamari and san choi bao. Calamari was shocking - not a hit of salt and pepper, in thick batter and oily. San choi bao was okay but lack flavour - does modern chinese means you can leave out essential ingredients like water chestnuts. For mains we ordered steamed barramundi, peking duck pancake, kai lan with mushrooms, cumin lamb. If you work on the principle of going to a restaurant to be served food that is superior to what you can do yourself, then all the dishes fail except for the lamb. The only redeeming thing was that we got a discount with our entertainment card - what a sad commentary. If the owner of the restaurant is reading this - better wake up.
We went with really high expectations but the food and the service were really poor. My main dish for undercooked and the waiter forgot to get rice though he remembered to bill it for us. They did flip my dish for another one which was only marginally better. Has to be one of the worst chinese I've eaten, do not recommend.
I went there many many times, and I was never disappointed. I got to know the staff and was offered free appetizers from time to time. The food was great, the staff was nice.
DO NOT GET TAKEAWAY FROM THIS RESTAURANT! And if you do, don't get the duck pancakes! For $38 it is the biggest rip off ever!
Really Good Food, and they deliver too! Recommend the Seafood and Tofu dish.
No chicken tendies and no nuggers so that's disappointing lee lee chin
