This councillor takes very little notice of constituents’ concerns. If your issues do not align with his plans you will simply be treated as nuisance value. I gave up writing to him and emailed the mayor’s office. However Cameron Caldwell has been the acting mayor in the past, so was there any point in writing to the council at all ?? In my case, this councillor made his decisions and wrote to me without providing any evidence of having consulted anyone else. The following are examples of how he has treated matters of concern to me. When I complained about a pedestrian crossing where many cars do not stop for pedestrians, his response was to threaten me with having the crossing taken out. When I suggested looking at a safety fence along a stretch of footpath where pedestrians have to walk in single file because the path is too narrow, leaving only 1 metre between the pedestrian and speeding vehicles, his response was: “Unfortunately, previous requests were not supported” . I then emailed back, asking for the dates and responses from the council on this matter. He simply wrote back saying “Your suggestion will not be investigated further,” I can see that other ratepayers have also had issues with this particular councillor ignoring their concerns. I was going to contact the ombudsman but never got around to it. Another option left to those who have experienced how ineffective and dismissive his attitude has been, is not to vote him in for a further term.
Can not speak highly enough of Councilman Caldwell. After contacting him via the appropriate channels with a local matter/problem, myself and my family found him to be very polite, understanding and helpful. A very approachable sincere man.
Pretty hopeless Councillor. Would not respond when you write to him to raise issues of concern, The flooding issue is getting worse in Paradise Point and we are now getting very bad sewer smells. The only thing he's good at is posing for photos after he's had dinners at restaurants or with Council workers when they are doing road maintenance work.
You say your a community advocate, but you vote for a quarry expansion that would have destroyed a lot of green space and caused more harm than good what a disgrace. Don't even live in the area.
No response to calls, never answers phone, leave messages hopeless councillor
Called office to be informed I must send email for appointment tad hard being vision impaired and disabled
Friendly staff, help me with proplem immediately.
