We visited this wholesale store to buy some food items. They have a large variety of food, drinks, apparel, fresh produce, meat, baked goods, appliances and more. Most of the food items are sold in bulk. It's a very big place with lots to see.

I want to raise a serious concern about Costco’s entry and food-area policy, which is clearly inconsistent, poorly communicated, and unfair to customers.nnRecently, my friend went inside the warehouse to shop, and I stayed outside because I had no intention of entering the store. I simply planned to wait and get something to eat from the food area. However, I was refused access even through the exit side, which should reasonably remain open for customers who need to access services like the customer service desk, tyre shop, and other facilities.nnHere’s the most concerning part:nWhile I waited outside for over 30 minutes, I observed that anyone could freely walk in through the exit area without being stopped or checked. There was zero enforcement. So being told that I couldn’t enter for the food area makes absolutely no sense. Your policy is either being selectively applied or simply not understood by your staff.nnIf Costco is a members-only business, then stop advertising misleading information such as “members can bring two guests” if in reality guests cannot access certain areas. If the rule truly is NO card = NO entry, then state it clearly and apply it consistently on both sides—entry and exit. No confusion. No excuses.nnPlease ensure your policies are communicated with proper signage, proper training, and proper customer service. I expect a clear and official response from Costco, not a generic copy-and-paste reply. If your written explanation does not match what I can clearly observe in-store, I will continue posting updates with proof every time I visit.nnCostco, this is Australia. Customers expect transparency, fairness, and respect—not inconsistent enforcement and ambiguous rules.nnFix it.
Costco Canberra deserves 5 stars for its extensive selection and unbeatable prices. The store offers a wide variety of products, from groceries to electronics, all in bulk at great value. The staff is efficient and friendly, and the layout is easy to navigate. The membership fee is well worth it for the savings and quality offered. It's a one-stop shop that makes bulk shopping convenient and cost-effective.
