Story

Cosi has been a restaurant institution in South Yarra for almost 20 years. Comprising a bar, main dining area and courtyard we can meet any of your dining needs whether it be an intimate dinner for 2 or a fully booked Christmas party. Seating up to 100 or 120 stand up Cosi can cater for any size events. Chef and owner Peter Boukouras takes immense pride in utilising the best seasonal produce that Melbourne has to offer in every dish that he creates. He is passionate about the celebration of sitting down with family and great friends for a meal and encapsulates that from the minute you walk through the door.

A cosy romantic small restaurant. We enjoyed the ambience and the friendly service. We loved our entrees. Our mains were the seafood spaghetti and the beef ribs specials. Both were absolutely amazing but were a little too rich and filling towards the end of the meal. Service pace could be improved as we felt we were being rushed through the courses. Other than that, fantastic dining experience. Well done.

A wonderful experience! Our waiter, Michael, was extremely attentive, knowledgeable and charming. The food was beyond perfect, with the entrée scallops being a highlight of the evening. Everything felt authentic and lovingly handmade, including the drinks. The music, decor, and well trained staff all added to the environment of a great evening. Highly recommend.

We had the best dining experience at Cosi. The steak was unlike anything that we’ve ever had and the carbonara and truffle ravioli was top notch as well. Michael gave us the best ever service and we had such an amazing time because of his expertise and friendly service. Would highly recommend this place.

If you're looking for a delicious Italian meal, Cosi Bar Ristorante is the perfect spot. The pasta is amazing, and the staff are incredibly kind and helpful. The Fettuccine is definitely the star of the show - it's absolutely delicious!

I made a dinner booking with Cosi to celebrate my partner’s birthday. I had done some research for Italian restaurants and made the choice to book Cosi with the menu choices and positive reviews. The dining experience was exceptional, went beyond my expectations. The food Marinara and Lamb Ragu was extremely delicious and good sizing. The service was first class! I thank the Cosi staff for their professionalism and mindfulness of my partner’s birthday by presenting a candle in our dessert and saying happy birthday as we left. I would highly recommend Cosi and wont hesitate to return.

Amazing Italian restaurant in the heart of One of the most beautiful suburbs in Melbourne. Food is delicious, classic and authentic, well executed and beautifully presented. Service is on point with friendly and knowledgeable waiters running the show. Classy decor, cosy atmosphere and they also have a beautiful gelato cart : Visit with friends, family or a special someone. 100% recommended.

Absolutely love this place! Service and food is great. The owners remembered our faces and welcomed us back. The ambiance is really lovely, such a cute place.

I feel bad writing this because the waiting staff were so nice and service was good but the food was way below my expectations. Everything came out very quickly and was barely warm so seemed like it had just been microwaved and wasn’t fresh. The gnochi pesto special had only about 2 prawns and the pesto cream had a watery consistency and strange tangy taste. The tiramisu was runny and didn’t have enough cake. So I was really disappointed after reading all the good reviews and choosing this restaurant for my birthday. Unless I caught them on a bad day, I can’t work out why this restaurant has been rated so highly.

First time here and it was nice. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff attentive. My friend and I decided to share a few starters between us, in total we had 6 starters and a bottle of wine. The only reason for not giving Cosi 4 star was that the chips were under cooked, and the green salad was just ok, cos salad and what looked like canned beetroot and chickpeas, a little disappointing when everything else we had was really nice. It would have been nice to of had more cheese in the salad as well.

It was cooked perfectly and texture was perfect. There was so much seafood, like prawns, scallops, clams and mussels. The sauce was really flavorful, we’re in love!
