Story

The Corner Store Cafe aspires to deliver a quality cafe to the inner west of Brisbane. Proprietor Kim Malouf has assembled a young and talented team of individuals to make this happen. Chef Dylan Brace leads the kitchen alongside Sous-chef, Kimba Kuhlmann. Kane Blaber has also just recently handed over the Synesso to Luke Shilling as head barista.

Salvaging a derelict turn-of-the-century cottage The Corner Store Cafe celebrates the historical use of the original building and delivers a unique stand-alone setting for the cafe. The newly constructed patio seating overlooks the organic herb and vegetable garden that provides freshest possible ingredients for the kitchen’s use.

The cafe is located at 113 Sylvan Rd, (on the corner of Quinn St) and is adjacent to the Toowong tennis courts. Good parking is available in the surrounding streets.

The cafe is open 7 days from 7am and accepts bookings for tables of 5 or more.

Duck croffle was delicious and portion sizes are great for the price. Service was fairly quick considering it was a busy Sunday morning. Will definitely come back!
We went there for breakfast. The quality of the meals were somewhat mixed. The Strapatsada was nice. The mushrooms were rather very soft and watery, they could have been cooked for another couple of minute. The corned beef was okayish. If you happen to go there on a sunny summer day, try to sit at one of the tables in the inner side of the deck, as it can be quite hot at the tables close to the garden.
Good coffee and nice space, and the ham and cheese croissant was yummy, but the bacon and egg burger was pretty bad - especially for almost $17. I got the tomato relish on the burger and it was like a thick paste. I couldn’t eat it, which was a shame.
Great venue, simple yet thoughtful menu, friendly and fast services.nnHad a simple scramble eggs with sautéed kale. Honest and tasty dish. Also had a turmeric latte and it was heavenly.nnDefinitely the hidden gem in the neighbourhood
A few vegan items have made their way off the menu over the years which is unfortunate, but my carnivore/omnivore friends tell me that the rest of the food is delicious. The acai bowl is a delight, but it's also the only thing of note on the menu that's vegan. The staff are great, friendly and happy to help. Adjustments can be made to other menu items to accommodate dietary requirements. The atmosphere is wonderful, with lots of fresh air and good vibes.nnBut it's a cafe, so how is the coffee? I wish the serving sizes were a little more generous, the large does feel smaller than other cafes especially the iced latte, but the coffee is very tasty and there's a wide variety of plant milks and syrups to choose from if that's your thing.
