What we ordered: - Corner classic $15.5 + chips and blueberry lime soda combo $7 - Winner winner $20.8 - Spider soda $8 - Peanut butter brownie shake $8.5 - Onion rings $10 The corner classic was your good old fashioned burger, I liked how soft but thick the buns were and I liked that they didn't shy away from the pickle flavour. The pickles were very thinly cut but there was substantial pickle flavour and I appreciate that in a burger, I appreciate the funk. The winner winner was the most incredible burger I've had in a solid few months. The burger wasn't spicy but it had a bit of warmth that was so addictive with the sweet apple slaw. The chicken was so flavourful and the bacon and cheese cut through the sweetness really nicely. I don't know how I felt about the fried cheese on top since I kind of just took a bite out of it on its own but everything else about this was, as the name implies, a winner. It was decadent and felt kind of sinful to eat and it was so messy but it was also incredible in the sort of way where you don't even care that the sauce is dripping and your hands are messy. It was so good that I didn't even care about the price. The sides were also really good. The fries were really thin and crispy and the onion rings were really weighty and thick cut, and they were also really crispy. The blueberry lime soda was also great for only an extra $7 for both soda and fries, and the portions were pretty big. I didn't try the spider but the peanut butter brownie milkshake was incredible. They put a whole brownie in the shake and it was a good quality fudgy brownie! You can't go wrong with peanut butter and chocolate but the actual brownie chunks in the milkshake were just perfect
The cocktail was average. burger bun was dense and dry, burger just tasted like I was eating pickles and I could not finish it. the flavour was too overwhelming. Looked nice buts that's all. The fries were nice and Crispy. The eatery looked very clean though, floors were clean. 5 star for clean restaurant
As someone who seeks out every interesting-sounding burger joint in Auckland, I can't honestly give this more than a 3.5 because the buns are so dense and dry that each of us ended up eating the fillings out of them and leaving about half a bun. As for the burger patties themselves, they have a homemade burger taste which means that it's okay, but the point of going out is to get something you can't make at home so they fall a little flat in excitement and taste bit dry as well. The spicy chicken "Winner Winner" was more interesting and juicy, but very messy no fault, just is. Got more enjoyment out of their twist on cheesy tater tots and the onion rings. Poutine was so-so but not bad; lots of cheese which was good. Overall, it's not as bad as people say, but not amazing either so it sits middle of the road.
I love trying new burger joints and decided to checkout this place. The look and feel of this place is very nice and somewhat rustic old school. I noticed they adopted the RFID buzzer system. Very smart and helps with shortage of manpower or extra expenses. I ordered the "That's Burger" and a chocolate milkshake. The milkshake arrived first and it was really amazing. It was thick and yummy. I think they used Hershey's chocolate... Anyways, I finally got my burger and it looked really good and . Unfortunately, my anticipation of an amazing burger just faded away. I'll try not to be too critical as I used to have a restaurant in the past. The burger was very well presented. All the ingredients were placed or stacked very well. Before taking my first bite, I realised I was missing some ketchup. Went over to all for ketchup and she gave me some inside a tiny sauce/condiment bowl or what have you. Now, anyone knows you'll need some kind of sauce with your burger. You gotta have a squeezy bottle. There's really no alternative to this. You can't even imagine how you're gonna get to the ketchup with a condiment bowl. It's just not feasible. Moving forward, took a bite and the buns were too hard or dense for my liking. Yes it was very difficult to open your mouth as wide as an anaconda which eventually left me struggling. My burger then started falling apart and so begins the destruction of my burger. I felt there should have been a tissue dispenser on the table to help assists with the mess but? I have to say that the burger didn't have much flavor and everything else tasted as it should like the tomatoes, pickles and lettuce. Put together, it tasted like nothing out of the ordinary. The description of their burgers and how it was made doesn't quite match my expectations. Kiwi owned and operated means? Home made? I can help with creating some interesting burgers for you if you're interested. I can create some really great burgers which could help with your business.
Corner Burger used to always be a highlight of our trips up to Auckland, but it seems to have become more generic and mainstream over the years. Portion sizes are generous especially the fries for how cheap they are!, but prices of other sides and more gourmet burgers are quite steep and made us hesitant to risk trying them. Be aware that they charge 10% surcharge on public holidays too. Service was fast, facility was clean, location is convenient, but when the best part of a burger joint isn’t the burger, it makes one hesitant to return.
Located at the rooftop area of Westfield Newmarket, right at the corner close to the cinema. Restaurant has been here for a long time, according to my friend who lives nearby, came here for dinner twice, choices are quite clear, staff is friendly and smiling which is good. The burgers are nice, we had "That burger" and some Classic burgers which tasts good. Friends are nice, milk shake is good as well. Overall experience very good, recommended for coming over to have a meal, or simply dine in yourself.
Yummy burger perfect after a long working day!! The fries were a special with pulled pork and they're amazing!! Perfect for sharing because the portions are huge!!
Amazing food! The whole experience from start to finish was great and the waiter was always so friendly and kind. The food can’t get better and the prices are fair for the portion size. Always a great spot in newmarket to get great quick food.
The WORST fish burger ! The fish was as tough as rubber, I couldn’t swallow the fish at the end. Ended up wasting a $21 fish burger. I came here on a public holiday near closing time, so it felt like they didn’t care and microwave or re-fried the fish. The chips had a old oily taste The cheesy tater tots were not worth it either, just mushy potato. Overall , super disappointed and DO NOT RECOMMEND. The thing is, it’s Newmarket, so regardless, they will still have customers walking in.
We had to eat here today because of the kids. I was looking forward to it having seen this place a few times. What a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. I had the basic chicken burger. It was a relatively thin dry piece of over cooked chicken with tasteless accompanying ingredients - the whole burger was bland. The kids beef burgers were over salted. The kids chicken burger is so dry that you have to rip the chicken to be able to chew it and after one taste it was not eaten. The kids didnt like their burgers at all I ate half of one of them to try and feel some value for the money spent. The only saving grace were the onion rings and chips. I can honestly say this is one of the worst burger places I have ever eaten at. A complete waste of $69.00 odd.
