I was generous at 3 stars. We had Bento box with wagging shredded beef with traditional tempura. 3 types of noodle soups and appetizer fish balls. Very small indoor and larger outdoors next to street. The tempura was at my level of quality. Besides that, it was okay but expected more for his establishment. As always post wherever your palate ends up in.
Our group of 8 all thoroughly enjoyed our dinner, including ramen, sushi/sashimi combos, teppanyaki udon dishes and more. Outdoor seating and Japanese beers for $7-8. Genuine Japanese staff and they are excellent. We will be back.Food: 5/5
We each had a sushi and sashimi bento - one with spicy wagyu beef and the other with karaage chicken. I really enjoyed the karaage chicken, which was crunchy on the outside yet juicy on the inside and nicely flavoured - just as it should be. The rest of the dishes were also nice, including the sushi, sashimi and udon which were nice and firm with a nicely flavoured broth. The restaurant itself is quite small, but has seating inside as well as outside. Wheelchair accessibility: Located directly on York Street with an outdoor seating area where wheel chairs could be accommodated.
Great and attentive service. The food portions were generous for Bento + chicken katsu curry. Everything was delicious, very home-y!Food: 5/5
Ordered Wygyu MB 7+ in the menu, but what I got was just seem to be regular chewy beef thats slightly over cooked. It was difficult to chew through and definitely not any like any wygyu I've tried both at home and in restaurants, let alone Marble 7 as described in the menu. Will not order again unless they start use the real deal and be more honest.
Had the beef ramen spicy, ignore the perfectionist comments from others, i found the food really nice, great broth and lots of ppl eating here. Great friendliest serviceFood: 5/5
All the food was very good and at a very good price! They went also pretty fast
Terrible japanese food Not authentic japanese at all. Pork belly bun, the bun is over microwaved and so hard that need to send back. The Bento box have plastic pieces in the teriyaki wagyu beef. Almost cut my daughter's throat. Terrible experience.
A recently family trip to Sydney found this treat for lunch. The food was exceptional and each of us totally enjoyed what we had . But the downside was the race between these two shops to “get you in”.. then having the stink eye from one you didn’t choose.. no need for this in todays society .. you food merits your customers. We avoided this area after that, which was sad because it was so taste , we didn’t want to feel comfortable again.
I ordered Veggie Ramen take-away. The first bag was somehow dropped when the waiter was about to hand to me. He said sorry and the kitchen cooked another one. The ramen was not cooked enough I guess they were in a hurry as they dropped the first one and didn't want me to wait for long? The veggies are pretty raw and the noodles are very hard as well. Unfortunately I'm suffering with stomachache today and the half-cooked onion still very spicy and almost raw carrot/zucchini made me very sick... I threw up 10 mins after I had the Ramen.... I guess if I'm okay today, it shouldn't be that bad but let's just say me and the restaurant should take it half-half. I like their bento boxes, and I never tried other Ramen but honestly I think the veggie Ramen doesn't worth $15... Only a few Chinese cabbage in big chunks, carrots, onion and zucchini. 3 small pieces of Tofu. That's it. Taste is ordinary, still a very strong onion spicy in my mouth right now....
