Stayed 2 nights Sunday Monday everything in the room that we needed and 1 thing Comfort Inn do not a lot of others do they still have Arnold's Nice Biscuit and Shortbread in the little packets with the coffee . The room is spacious, clean and the bed and pillows comfy. We had a room facing Ruthven Street which is very busy but with the balcony door shut you really didn't hear the traffic . No noise from other guests of a night either. Rooms very soundproof. The staff we had dealings with were friendly and helpful cannot fault our stay . Souther Hotel is directly across the road they do good meals and you have a shopping centre 10 mins up the road .
Like many others here, I took a few days to decide whether I should leave a review. In the end, I felt I had to because I would not want anyone else to experience what we went through with the receptionist and the owner.nnWe should have checked the reviews beforehand, because unfortunately, they are accurate. The receptionist was not only rude and unprofessional, but also one of the most heartless people we have ever encountered in the hospitality industry.nnWe understand that check-in policies must be enforced, and we acknowledge that we failed to inform the property ahead of time about our delay. That was completely unintentional. We had been travelling for almost 12 hours, dealing with unforeseen delays, and some of us were feeling unwell and exhausted. Unlike other properties we have stayed at, we did not receive any reminder or communication regarding strict check-in cut-off times but regardless, we accept our part in the oversight.nnHowever, policy enforcement does not justify the way we were treated.nnWhen I called to explain that we had just gotten off the bus and would try our best to arrive by 7pm and that we still intended to proceed with the booking, the receptionist raised her voice at me and lashed out over the phone. She accused us of being rude for not informing earlier, when in fact she was the one speaking to us disrespectfully. I calmly told her that she was being rude, and in response she told us not to come at all.nnDespite this, my companion encouraged us to proceed. We booked a ride and arrived slightly after 7pm. The owner then came outside only to further mistreat us pointing her finger at us and turning us away, stating that her receptionist said I was rude, without even giving us the opportunity to explain our side.nnWe were travelling as a family with a baby and a senior citizen who were exhausted and unwell. To be treated in such a cold and dismissive manner after a long journey and in that hour of the night was deeply upsetting. It felt discriminatory and completely lacking in empathy.nnThis was not simply about policy. It was about basic human decency and professionalism. Hospitality should never look like this.nnA very disappointing and disheartening experience.nEdit: adding photos fyr
Disgusting, Rooms are dirty,smell like a Train station Toilet, Aircon is in a spot where it simply isn't effective, Shower had Mold in itno question,that we didn't use it , only one Face Washer for two people available, Pillows been dirtyfull of Stains, Milk which was given to us was sour. Can't open the windows,as the Flyscreens are ripped. Location very noisy. Safety Features are pretty much not existing. Restaurant only open from Monday to Friday,which is definitely not good,as most People come over the weekend,so you have to find something in Town.And for the Owner/Manager, don't say we're lying,as we took Photos. Definitely not recommended!
Paid in advance for a room only to get rejected at the door step at 7:30pm and take note we have a 1 year old baby and were in an uber. I'm sure I'm not the only one with this horrible experience. Therefore they don't intend to improve with their hospitality and customer service. I have been traveling internationally and this is so far the worst egoistic owner i have met. I foresee a flipping story and in denial owner's reply after this but by just checking the history of previous guest experience you could say that my review is true and honest.
It’s really hard to describe how disappointing this experience was.nI booked a twin room online, and when I arrived, the staff checked my booking and confirmed it also showed a twin room. She even checked the prices on my phone and saw that the twin room costs more than the double room — which I had already paid for.nHowever, she still asked me to pay an extra $11 because her computer showed that I had booked a double room.n$11 isn’t much, but after double-checking everything with her, I was still the one who had to pay for the mistake. I understand it might not be the hotel’s fault, but how is this the customer’s responsibility?nVery disappointing service.
