Coburg aquarium is an amazing aquarium and lives up to its name Australia’s leading aquarium store. The staff are amazing and are extremely knowledgeable she comes to fish breeding and keeping, they are also very kind and will recognise a consistent customer. I have bought almost all of my fish from coburg aquarium and have used them to breed and sell in which they are great quality for breeding. Coburg aquarium is my all time favourite aquarium store which will outcompete a local pet store or pet barn by a million miles. Steve, Byron, Oscar and Sebastian are the best people to go to for aquarium knowledge and are some of the nicest people I have ever met.nI 110% recommend going to coburg aquarium. It is definitely worth the drive. I would go every single day of my life if I could.nThey also have a great variety of wood and rocks to chose from. I have aquascaped many tanks from this hardscape.

I bought my full tropical freshwater tank set up from Coburg Aquarium in January. I went in a complete beginner and, based on my desired stocking, followed the recommendations on products, timelines, and plants. When I've had problems staff have been very helpful in helping me resolve them - shout out to the young man in the fish room who suggested some specific stem plants, aggressive trimming + replanting, plus root tabs. It's worked a treat.nnI have lost a corydora this week but as it was some four months after purchase, it's either a genetic thing or my fault. I plan on going back to Coburg Aquarium for another once I'm confident the tank is healthy.nnPicture 1 is my tank set up; picture 2 is my hairgrass thriving; and picture 3 is my new bloody mary cherry shrimp. Excellent suggestion from the staff to distract the cardinals when I added them - they've been moulting and love the java moss.nnI recommend turning up to the shop during the quiet times - peak hour is a lot and very overwhelming. I try to time my visits for 10am, as soon as they're open. The few times I've gone in around the middle of the day it's been very busy with wait times of 30 plus minutes in the fish room. It's well managed with a take-a-number system, but the sheer number of customers makes it hard for staff to keep up. Staff are generally very knowledgeable and always helpful, even when busy.nnI love my fish tank and I'll be going back to Coburg Aquarium for my next one, if and when that happens.

Good aquarium shop with a wide range of fish, including rare and special varieties you don’t often see elsewhere.nI travelled quite far to get here and it was worth it. I was able to find and buy a few special fish I’d been looking for. Helpful staff and a great place for fish enthusiasts.

After recommendations from quite a few people I finally went to Coburg Aquarium to purchase some native fish for my outdoor pond. First and foremost, their range is INSANE. Felt like the store just kept getting bigger and bigger! So many products for literally any kind of aquarium.nnI purchased a few fish and plants but at checkout a staff member approached me and sheepishly told me that perhaps my choice in aquatic plant wasn’t the best choice for what I needed. And he was right! Phil was so enthusiastic and explained everything I asked, he was so knowledgeable and passionate about native species! He was thrilled that I was getting native fish and gave me as much wisdom as I could ask for!nnThe young man who originally helped me out was also incredibly courteous and helpful, as was the woman at the checkout who let me quiz her incessantly about her marine science course. Everyone was so lovely and so passionate, and I think I will be back here for any other fish or reptile needs in my future! Wonderful experience.

Ordered 6 fish from them, All arrived safely however they were all under sized by almost 40% of what was advertised. A couple of them also arrived with pretty severe nipped tail fins. Tried reaching out to the store regarding the issue and they are not replying. This is my first experience with coburg aquarium and it was been disappointing considering their many other positive reviews which is why i chose them.
