The legend old cafe still going very well established. More variations of food and drinks. This cafe have special almond croissants you couldn’t find anywhere else. Also Vegetarian Breakfast well served and worthy.
Very central in Cairns. On the corner of the Esplanade and Shields Street. A very large outside seating area, mostly under cover. Protected from the hot midday sun. Serves a variety of meals. And all day breakfast. I had the smashed avocado with poached eggs. A little different to what I’m used to. Includes grilled mushrooms. And excellent toast. I can recommend this. Very nice. And the coffee is very good. Nice roast
A must Visit Delicious coffee and a nice range of other pleasant drinks both alcoholic and soft. Great little menu with fresh made excellent tasting snacks. Nice outside seating to watch the world go by Kid-friendliness: Children were made very welcome Parking: On street parking + harbour car park close by Wheelchair accessibility: Terrace level with pavement
Only had a fruit drink, supposedly/promised fresh mango, banana and tropical juice. Was way too acidic. Nearly took the enamel off my teeth and not much of a hint of mango or banana. Had better from carton of Golden Circle. Service was not great. Left standing a bit too long when no other customers there. Great location but shares that sense of depression Cairns seems to experiencing at this time.
Food was mediocre. Had a burger, steak sandwich and mango smoothie bowl. Steak sandwich had an embarrassing amount of meat and hardly any sauce. The mango bowl was rather bland. The burger was the only saving grace and was quite good considering.
Rude man working in this cafe. I feel sorry for the rest of the staff as he is ruining the reputation. Food and coffee were both okay, I feel may be slightly overpriced though. Rest of the staff were friendly. Cafe is in a good location.
Amazing! Service is extremely friendly! And rather quick too! Food is absolutely phenomenal. We've been here 4 times in the space of a week and a bit. When we come back to Cairns, it's our #1 pick! Didnt even bother to try another breakfast place, we came here first thing off our flight, and it set the bar high for the trip! I really recommend the hollandaise sauce!
I wish I read the reviews before attending this cafe. The worst service I have ever received from the old man possibly the owner so disrespectful, dismissive and rude. The other staff seem lovely. The fresh juice advertised was not fresh, it was more a smoothie with mainly froth. Would never go here again even if it was free, take your $$ elsewhere. We ordered our food and a table of 6 that ordered after us got their food first we were a table of 2 which was about a 45 min wait and the food was not even hot, like it was sitting there for the last 15 mins. Very disappointed.
This cafe is in a great spot but the guy at the order/pay counter comes across as a bit rude if you don't understand their menu items. The juices were bland and the breakfasts were just average. Our lattes resembled flat whites and on that note we won't be back.
This is a basic, no frills cafe and breakfast joint. They have fairly classic and old school menu that includes bacon, eggs, burgers and sandwiches. It's nothing fancy, but it's ok. It's a bit of a higher price tag than I would normally expect to pay for this type of food, but I suppose that's the price you pay in a tourist spot. The service was quick and straight forward. The coffee was good, and I like that they have self-serve condiments and sauce available.
