My partner and I booked a room at Classic Motel on the 29/03/18. We arrived in heavy rain at 1.30 and were told we had to pay $20 if we wanted to check in before 2pm. The motel manager was very condescending using pet names when I queried the $20 fee and told me it was stated clearly online. I was unable to find this information anywhere online. When I confronted her before checking out she refused to show me any written policy stating this. I also queried why there was no smoke alarm in the room to which she told me it must have been stolen. I asked another guest if their room had one which it did not. This motel manager was completely unapologetic and lacking in any standard of customer service. She proceeded to close the door in my face and ignore when I was speaking politely to her. I am outraged with how this matter was handled and will certainly be taking it further.

The room seemed cleaned until we lied down, and found sand all over the bed and even under the pillow. I went to have a shower and a cockroach got in the shower with me. In addition to that they advertise a pool and a BBQ, which are constantly locked, and are of no use to the guests. Even in my booking it said we could use it, but this was constantly locked. We went to check out in the morning and we were charged $20 per half hour as a late fee, which is also not explained in their booking. And the cherry on top was their lack of customer service where not only the cleaning lady as well as the lady at the front desk were beyond rude to us. FALSE ADVERTISING & HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have also attached a screenshot of their email to me, which was not only discriminatory (apparently i don't speak English), but proves how rude they are. Apparently they create policies, enforce them, but don't inform the customer of such policies. And such a disgraceful, and impolite manager & owner, shouldn't be dealing with customers at all.

My husband, baby girl and I checked in for a night 20/03/2018 prior to a flight from Goldy to Sydney. The lady manager / owner was a lovely kind and polite lady to us. She got us fresh ice trays so we could give our baby who was not well, some refreshing cold water. She later checked in on us as well. The room #4 was clean, fresh smelling, white sheets, a clean bathroom, with frosty cold air con, and great tv channels. What a good deal for the money - highly recommend Classic Motel Mermaid Beach to weary or adventurous travellers. We'll be back! Wing, Taliyah, and Derek McD,

Booked the room in this hotel week in advance , got written confirmation, at 5 p.m today , right one hour before my arrival received message that my booking cancelled. That a great customer service . Never had such experience in Australia before.

Poor customer service, bbq and pool area advertised on the site but pass not open at all, lucky we came to check it out before actually buying anything or else that would have been a waste. Room was dirty and full of sand, room service actually doesn’t have a vacuum to clean the rooms. Lady there was rude and arrogant. Nothing like paying for a service and not receiving anything at all.
