This is a great store. Nice people, great service, obvious love and care for the pooches. Our Cappy is there now for a grooming.
Purchased a poodle in August. Staff were friendly on the day. When we brought him home we found he was unwell. He was excreting blood. Rang the pet shop immediately and their response was that it was probably stress, a standard line they kept using. We took him to our vet. Found he had a temperature and Giardia. Because we took him to our vet and not theirs the costs we incurred are not covered by them. The complimentary Pet Cover insurance they provide also does not cover this because it is a pre existing issue. They pointed out it is written in their paperwork. The paperwork they provided also included a vet check by vets at Western Rivers Vet Group 11.8.22 and Claremont Vet Hospital 1 day before purchase saying the pup was fit and healthy. This was obviously not the case. We had to have tests done to establish what was wrong and put the pup on antibiotics. One does not expect to pay $3000 for a pup with health issues. More reason to get an independent vet check.
I was very close to buying a puppy after help from the friendly and helpful staff that work here, but after interacting with the owner - Vik Gypsie Finkelstein - I realised something was amiss and my dodgy-o-meter starting going off. Thank god, after a bit of research it was easy to see how suss the owner and this place is.…the puppies are housed in cramped stuffy conditions and all look so miserable and in poor condition. Honestly seen far better housing at the dog pound. I ended up getting a puppy from a reputable registered breeder with the ANKC, not one of these designer mongrels sourced from a puppy mill and costing thousands.
What lovely people to deal with. Never have I been so well informed when I have received a puppy. I have purchased puppies from breeders before now and no one has ensured that I knew exactly what to do and when to do it. So much knowledge and nothing was too much effort. We absolutely love our new addition to the family, he has bought smiles to all our faces. Thanks Vic and staff for such amazing caring customer service.
The staff are very kind and helpful they will help/answer any questions you have. A huge range of pet toys and supplies. The shop is very looked after and all of the animals that are at the shop, at grooming or for sale are treated with the best care. One of the Best pet shops in Perth
Purchased a cavoodle in February 2019 from this establishment at the cost of $3500 plus being told I couldn't leave without purchasing their dog food, worming/heartworm treatment and other "add on's" at further extra cost - even when I said I wanted to ask my vet first what food/heart worming treatment etc. they recommended. I asked for the name of the breeder where my dog came from but they refused to tell me. Now my dog is only 10 months old yes, only 10 months old!!!!!!!!!!!!! and today been diagnosed with a grade 3 Patella Luxation in the right leg and the left is not looking great either and will require surgery. A patella luxation IS A GENETIC condition think of dogs with bandy legs and poor confirmation and the patella rolls out of the joint/knee cap. The bones in the leg simply do not line up correctly - surgery involves shaving the bones and putting pins in to line them up correctly - plus shaving the groove of the knee socket to put the knee cap back in place. 12 WEEKS recovery, painful, stressful and expensive plus cage confinement for 4 weeks. There is no test but responsible breeders simply do NOT breed from dogs that have the condition - and conduct vigorous vet checks and hip and knee scores before they do so. Strongly suggest you avoid Claremont Puppies and Pets and go to a reputable breeder in WA where you can view the parents and look at tests results that have been done on the parents. So sad. Wish I could give zero stars but it appears that function is not available.
This is a great pet store where we bought our two new groodkr puppies that are now 11 weeks. The staff are caring and give great instructions and education supplying all the necessities at very affordable prices compared to petbarn etc. We are so happy with our healthy Golden Girls who now nearly weigh 7kg. and love them to bits. One belongs to my daughter and one mine. Plenty of parking.
my parents went to purchase a dog there. told they didn't need to put a deposit down and they were 'first on the list' advised by the female staff member. no call received or communication on scheduled arrival date, and they assumed a delay during COVID went into the store - the male employee was extremely rude and advised 'no name recorded, all puppies had been sold and he was extremely busy and didn't contact anyone until later and all puppies were sold' puppies also extremely overpriced - breeders are selling them for $3500 not $6000+. unreliable communication and extremely rude. would not recommend if considering purchasing an animal from them.
We got our Bonnie Spoodle four weeks ago and she has been the absolute best! She has been healthy and happy. She was comfortable in the shop and comfortable once we adopted her. The attendant was so kind and gave me details as we were waiting to pick her up and then it was one-stop-shopping as we prepared ourselves for bringing a fur-baby home. We were also given a trial pet insurance policy on the house AND we were given the owners phone number to call in the event of an immediate emergency. I highly recommend Claremont Puppies and Pets!
Puppies and Pets has a great assortment of different dogs, the one we purchased is absolutely amazing! He is the perfect dog for us and would highly recommend going in and seeing all the awesome ones they have! Awesome pricing on most things and free pet insurance for the first month. The puppy cuts are awesome and we have had our dog come out looking cute! Awesome staff who are very friendly and treat the dogs like family. Very impressed with this pet shop!
