Good pub meals and a good variety to choose from. Environment is good, location is good... But that's all it is.... GOOD. Sometimes you want great. Meals were good. Rare steak came out closer to medium, and I get that they try to ensure that the fat is rendered properly on the steak, but it shouldn't be to the detriment of the steak in question. Also, a little too well seasoned a bit salty. It was good...just a little more fine tuning required. Chicken kebabs special were good as well. They could be a little dry however and could have used just a little sauce of some kind. They were well grilled and charred, but only came with a little slice of lemon to lift them. Being breast meat, they can be a little dry. Comes with mashed potato and green beans. Like I said, maybe just that little extra touch could have taken the meals from good, to great. Worth a visit... Hopefully you find a great meal. Mine was "Good".
Not a bad pub, reasonable prices, good steak. I found the Nachos to be lacking not much cheese or meat. Venue is kept pretty clean, during peak times it can get pretty busy and noisy. For those who like a game of pool, theres a few tables up the back to play on, kept in decent condition.
My wife and I came here on Monday the 23rd of January. . . We liked the look from the outside, which made an impact on our decision. We both had a "civic burger," which was sensational delicious! Hats off to the young fella at the bar serving us at around 3 p.m.! Absolute gentleman Hands down!
Great place. Went there on multiple occasions, the staff are lovely and it’s a very warm and cosy atmosphere. Great for family’s, nice food, and quick service.
Tried to buy take away beer. They pointed us in the direction of a bottle shop down the road and saved us plenty. Great service, beers were cold and the food looked greatService: 5/5
Good location except running the gauntlet of the smokers going in. Food is very average, dosed W mayonnaise. My Caesar salad was heavily "loaded".Service: 3/5
We found this great place on Google and used the rating system to find a good place for a few drinks and meals. What a great place !! Absolutely brilliant atmosphere even with a full house On A Tuesday night. The staff were very pleasant and courteous. They found us a table for 4 in a packed house even though we hadn't booked. The drinks were cold and the meals came very fast and all at the same time We also found the place to be very clean and well run. We will definitely be back and we will recommend it to all our friends. Keep up the great work
What an amazing pub. Beautiful inside. Friendly staff. Great crowd of people. Lovely atmosphere and meals were fantastic. We had a lovely Saturday night. Great place for a family or group. Highly recommend.
Number 1 pub in Canberra. I like to put a few ice cold pints down my neck on occasion here. Love getting a good Schnitzel as well
This pub has such character to it. The inside is decked out with books and fire places and separate dining rooms its just a wonderful atmosphere. Service and staff great and heaps of pool tables out the back!
