Probably wouldn't recommend it after having stayed here for a couple of months. There are a few positives, being that the gym is somewhat decent, the rooms have their own ensuites, you can get a free pub grub styled meal if you don't fancy what's on offer in the mess, and there are plenty of areas to pull up and have a few beers after work. The negatives though... Inadequate laundry facilities, where occasionally you're not getting to bed before 10pm because you have to wait 2 hours for a spare washing machine. Yet to find any wifi throughout the camp, and the 5G network is clogged to the point you can't access the internet. None of the facilities are centralised, so if you're thrown right up in the back corner, you have to choose between skipping breakfast or waking up 20 minutes earlier just to make up for time lost walking to the mess. Crib options can be pretty meh, especially when they start throwing fruit in the scones and crib cake instead of just leaving them plain...
A good place to spend time for a hitch out here in the mining country. Usually very crowded at peak times in the evenings and early morning. The large crowd reduces Telstra internet and mobile service so avoid planning any internet based work at such times. Food is ok, the gym is fair.
Don’t pay money for the WiFi plan here!!!!!!!!!!!! Telstra 4G is too slowly when I try to use Internet in this camp. So I pay $30 for the Civeo WiFi. The WiFi here is a joke, even more slowly than Telstra 4G.
Rooms were good size but unfortunately not clean. Got a smokers room which made it worse.Rooms: 3/5
This is good tidy camp with good food and service all round, and rooms are well maintained.
Stayed here for about 3 weeks and I was very happy with the room and the overall cleanness of the entire village. They have a nice gym with plenty of machines and weights. The laundry rooms was always busy, but I was always able to find an unused machine. Food is good with many choices and the pub is a great place to relax after a hard day of work. While I was there we had several trivia nights and other events, which is always fun. The management is certainly trying hard to make the stay pleasant for everyone.
Standard as far as mine camps go, I've been to alot of mine camps, very ordinary food in my opinion, good grief Rooms: 3/5
A bit small for the size of the camp, beers are cheap enough, staff are friendly and it's clean and tidy. If your residing you get a free feed, always good!!! Foods really good. Not a massive plate but ties you over. Outdoor area is nice. Good spot for a after work beer and nice and close to your room..
Currently renovating all the unit's at Moranbah and coppabella and the service staff and food is great Rooms: 4/5
Probably the best food on a Mine camp out there, good options on The Store convenience shop at reception, rooms, so far, pretty good and a pub in camp, where you are entitled of a meal every day part of your stay. Down side, the gym, probably one of the worst out there and one of the ladies at reception, who thinks she's the CEO of the company and talks to you like she's doing you a favor.. Overall, pretty good camp..
