City Recital Hall produces, presents and hosts a rich and diverse program of concerts and events, embracing all genres and art forms from chamber orchestras to opera, contemporary ensembles to bands, talks and debates, to festival events.

Our home at the centre of the vibrant Angel Place laneways precinct in the heart of Sydney is a world-class, purpose-built performance space, loved by audiences and performers alike for its unbeatable acoustics.

Please note this page is monitored Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

Very nice space. Really enjoyed the James Bond performance here as well as four seasons performance some years ago. Quite a versatile space. Quick ticket collection, bar can be very busy before performance and during intermission, fun faux photo booth with props for the James Bond event. Stair and elevator access to upper levels, clean bathroom facilities.

Great venue. Minutes walk from Wynyard train station....you could miss it, as it's down a little lane way, so isn't obvious when walking along George street. Great acoustics. Parking could prove challenging. I'd recommend a train in, if you have the option. Well organised with nice signage inside. I come here for a number of science and physics events. Really love the warm feel to it and well appointed staggered seating.

Concert hall itself is great - comfy enough seats, sufficient leg room (could still walk by if people stayed seated), seats well placed for viewing stage (at least from center balcony), acoustics is a given. It doesn't get 5 star mainly for the organisation set up of the general areas. It could be better organised to help relieve congestion - revisit seating and bar locations, have ushers around to help direct traffic and assist people especially the elderly (maybe help direct to lifts etc).

such a great experience, with really since accoustics and reasonably comfy seating. there are plenty of places in the area for drinks and dinner, either before or after a performance. significantly better than the opera house for seeing small groups or baroque style music.

Great venue and an OK bar. Acoustics fine. Avoid front 2-3 rows unless in centre.
