Story

This small classic movie theatre located in Wanaka is a real find. Comfy old sofas, an old Morris Minor, a cafe & bar serving delicious meals before, during or after the movie. Homemade icecream, world-famous hot cookies fresh every intermission & a warm welcome from the friendly staff & Patron. Loads of guides list the cinema as a "must do" & it is truly a memorable movie experience!

I absolutely loved this cinema! Apart from the cool part of having a sofa instead a regular seatdon’t worry normal seat also available I love the fact that you can order food or sweets ahead and it will be ready for your break! But the great thing of all is the fact that they have options for vegans from starters to the famous warm and delicious cookies!
This has got to be the best cinema in the whole world. So cozy and kitschy but the sound and picture quality are surprisingly awesome. Watched “Dune Two” here sat on a homely sofa. Epic sound on this film showing off what is reportedly cast off cinema gear from Peter Jackson himself. And how great to have the little pause in the middle of this nearly 3 hour film for a cookie and cup of tea.
Must have cookies when you are in Wanaka! The best cookies I ever eat! Handmade, crunchy outside and chewy/gooey inside and it still warm when K bought it. Thanks to my friend who told me this place!

The way movies should be!nnWith an intermission break 5-10mins halfway thru the movie. So you are able to get a freshly baked cookie still warm, another cheeky glass of wine/ beer, or a quick pit stop to the bathroom before going back to watch the remainder of your movie.nnGreat atmosphere, with great seating options available in three cinemas on-site.nnCinema 1 & 2 are the larger cinemas, while cinema 3 is more cosier. Lounge options, bean bags, sitting within a car in cinema 1 or 2. Food is lovely, cookies are super tasty and a huge variety of ice creams to choose from.
