This place never fails to disappoint! Absolutely love San Churro! Staff and Service are incredible with their friendly and bubbly personality; amazing sense of humour! Please never remove the Toffee Macadamia Frappe, it's one of the best frappes I've ever had
3 Stars and San Churro Southbank were lucky I didn't give them one star not for there products but for general cleanliness what joke all tables outside needed a wipe they've plenty of people in the shop for obvious reasons that's the money side aye. There was so much rubbish and leaves discarded paper ect under the tables as well like I was disappointed really for a well known brand with the crappiest hygiene practices. After I'd had my coffee which was yum as I said there products are great. I walked back along observing other eatery's and they obviously have there hygiene practices in place as there outdoor seating was very clean. Maybe they need to give there shop a DEEP SANITIZED CLEAN. Ive taken photos of there establishment click on the pics enlarge them n see for yourself. Rant over..
A beautiful, cosy and spacious cafe with delicious churros and great coffee. Staff were friendly and prompt. The store needs a a bit more cleaning though eg dusty benches, sticky tables, stains on window glasses.
Wet weather this weekend and what better way to deal with than San Churro. Outdoor seating wasn't good with the rain. So we opted to dine in. There were only two staff on that I saw and maybe they thought the rain would keep people away but I felt they were a little under staffed. I tried to Redeem my points in el social app but couldn't work it so ordered at the counter. Female staff wasn't familiar with the process but got there in the end. I ordered a Naught and Nice takeaway, Classic Spanish hot chocolate, thick, rich, dark, hot and sugar free. Delish! I love their premium shakes, choco loco or cookies. San Churro sundae is good too. Churros cinnamon sugar or icing with any of their choc pots, favs are dark, milk, cookie butter spanish caramel dips. Love their cheesecakes and mud cakes in cabinet too.
Great location. Coffee is delicious and love the mugs. Food is always good and great that you can order from table via QR Code or app. Service is slow albeit friendly. It has always been slow, even before the staffing shortages. So make it an event and don’t rush.
Always love San Churro, they make the best churros, but have a huge menu with so many options. They cater for various dietary requirements as well. My favourite is the cookie butter range, especially the cookie butter hot chocolate, which will always draw me in if I walk past. Staff are friendly, but sometimes are quite slow and seem a little inexperienced.
I was very disappointed with my experience at San Churro located in South Bank. I've been to other San Churro locations like the one in chermside and surfers paradise and this one is definitely below par. Pros: The staff members were very friendly and the food was quite decent and nicely flavoured. Cons: My biggest pet peeve was their questionable hygiene. There were so many problems with the hygiene in this location. When I went to grab myself a cup of water almost each cup was dirty. I started questioning myself whether it was the used cup section instead of the clean cup section until I found a cup that was passable. When we started enjoying or roast potatos we found a hair amongst the delicious potatos. By then we were fed up and didn't see the need or even the purpose of reporting that hair to the staff members. When my sister got her drink, they gave her a spoon that had stains on it that looked like it had recently been used. Quite disgusting really and that made us question how clean their food was. Another thing that we were annoyed at was the lack of care and presentation in presenting the food. My sister and her partner both ordered hot chocolates. At previous locations, they had a piece of chocolate served up with the drink. When we got the hot chocolate drinks we didn't realise until later there was something missing. The drinks were also served lukewarm. When we get the drinks we expect it to be hot not lukewarm in temperature. Also the hot chocolate drinks were served with hot chocolate spilt on the napkins which really depleted it's aesthetics and presentation. We also ordered 5 roast potato dishes and although it said it was served with aioli and tomato relish, it didn't come with it. We had to ask for the tomato relish. They were lucky we were not a big fan of aioli so we didn't really care if it came with aioli or not. If you're not going to serve it with aioli or tomato relish don't put it on the menu! We also ordered risotto and mushroom balls. My God they were the most oily things I had ever seen. It came looking like someone had pried it open and played with it before serving it to us. They were saturated with oil like it wasn't drained after being taken out from the fryer. I understand that it was a weekend and they were swamped with patrons, but if the staff members could be a bit more caring with the food and take their time and not rush the orders, I'm sure the quality would be a lot better. I'm sure a lot of people don't mind waiting a bit longer for good food. People might think oh these are just little things, but it's the little things that add up to your overall experience. We wanted this to be a nice weekend treat for ourselves but a treat turned out to be a bit of a nightmare. There shouldn't be such a big gap between different San Churro stores. They should be uniform in terms of presentation and hygiene. We really hope this improves because this store has the potential to become a great store.
I went here this weekend , in personal view i dont recommend this place. Because the sundae they serve is very disapppointing, its price 13 bucks was not matched with its quality. And Hot choco was not good.
I have been to many San Churros across NSW & QLD. However, the South Bank one is, simply, awful. Icant give 0/5 so am giving 1/5. We will never, ever go back there. While we understand that finding hospitality staff post Covid is not easy, our experience here was horrid. We ordered at our table using the app, and paid at the table via the app. Then - nothing happened. No order came out, in spite of the app saying it was ready. We waited. And waited. After 25 minutes they were not even that busy we went to the counter, and they didn't appear to know about our order. Eventually half the order came through. After another 20 minutes, my portion of the order has not arrived. I went to the counter to enquire what was happening, and waited another 10 minutes to be served in spite of me bring right at the front. Then they brought out 2 hot chocolates, in takeaway cups - Not even in the standard San Churros mugs. WT ... And the order was wrong. One coffee had chilli in it, and we had not ordered that. And my dark hot chocolate, supposed to be thick, was very runny. By this stage, we simply got up and left. Never again will we return to San Churro South Bank. NEVER.
An excellent location to satisfy your sweet tooth with loved ones. The Churros are my absolute favourite. For those who enjoy chocolate, they have a selection of cakes and milkshakes as dessert options.
