If you’re planning on moving onto student accommodation I wouldn’t recommend Chisholm collage. Currently writing in 2022 the University accommodation options are all run by University Lodge. This has resulted in students not being able to access support in regards to payment plans, rent deductions and repairs across the 12 towers. The social life is dead with each floor sticking with themselves and an overall lack of social event’s. Reported issues such as water being cut off for two months had people move out of their towers and with no reimbursement. Along with this there was no working washing machines and dryers for well over two months with yet again no reimbursement. All and all start look for accommodation before this becomes your only option.
!!WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!! As of 2022 LaTrobe's Student Accommodation is run by a private organisation, this has resulted in poorly maintained infrastructure, extremely slow and inconsistent turn around times for maintenance requests. During exam period, the washers and dryers all accross the college were not working, during this time one of the towers had no access to water. The internet access here is extremely poor, with constant outages that make it horrible for uni work and other applications. The social life here is abyssmal as most towers are very insular and don't talk or interact with others that much. Strongly recommend against staying at this college unless it is your LAST option.
Very decent place to live with other flatmates, as well as having a fitness studio equipped with basic training equipment, all taking into account the fact that it's only a 5 minute walk to class.
accommodation doesn't care about any concern residents may have, they tend to only do something if it looks like they may be sued if they don't. currently the majority of the towers are non functional and so accom is doing little to fix issues. Those in broken towers are either living with them being non functional or are being crammed into the only working tower.
I strongly don’t recommend to stay here because whatever your need is stuffs particularly recepction doesn’t care, if money is taken that’s alright no matter what happens around you and in your room. Don’t waste money a lot nice place to stay in Melbourne
