Sadly, just not what it used to be. Total ghost town. Save your time and go to Sunnybank instead for a real Asian experience.
Pretty much a construction site at present. The car park is closed as are most business. A few restaurants are still operating. For a great authentic Chinese experience it's best to go and explore Sunnybank.
It might be the worst China Town in Australia, only one Chinese restaurant was opening, other place looked like a dead city....
Wonderful place with Big bell and Lion statue. there also Big Koi Fish Statue. Many of Chinesse restaurant here. and there is Yuan Market that sell many things from Asian.
Bad, not much restaurant, It was quiet. There were very few people. Chinese restaurants don't taste good
Really bland for a Chinatown. The only time there's any life is when they do festivals, performances and cooking shows. Cars can even drive in - there's a parking station there but even on the actual strip, there are a few places. It just has a couple of Chinese supermarkets on the strip and a handful of restaurants. I like some of the decorations - the bell, the lion, the dragon...Ps Something has been going on lately and now the few shops they had have all packed up and left. The Butcher, Supermarket, 4 Eateries. Sad.
Very small compared to Melbourne, but the acknowledgement and history is still interesting! Well serviced by buses and trains. However, I would avoid the train station when it gets dark. Deserted and Quite scary.
Came here on 1st of LNY, just like a dead town, with no specific shops or either restaurant around, and you won't feel safe after walk few street after since there are many hawker and night clubs.
Chinatown is the redeeming feature of Fortitude Valley, which is quite sleazy. Chinatown itself however is full of atmosphere , ranging from really nice places to eat, to little shops selling curious items! Not far from the train station and worth a visit
Such a beautiful picturesque place. Really clean and well maintained daily. Friendly staff at all the shops and restaurants. Would recommend a visit if you like your Asian food. Great diversity of cultural foods available too!
