Awesome motel, clean and quiet. The managers are super friendly and willing to help. They do dinner and breakfast, the dinner was massive and delicious. They told me all the meat is from the local butcher and sourced in the region. The swimming pool was perfect. I'll be back again on my way to Brisbane. Thanks guys, keep up the great work. Best motel in town, I've tried the others!

I stayed three nights while looking at properties for purchase in the area. Clean comfortable rooms with friendly hosts. 

Great swimming pool to cool off during the day (had the pool to ourselves most of the time!) and it was in a great location to explore the local attractions. 

Definitely would stay here again and would recommend it to friends and family.

Stayed one night while travelling south and was a very nice and quiet stay. Dinner and breakfast was bought to the room, beds were comfortable and had great many room amenities. Only faults I can give is that the aircon is in a terrible place and hardly reaches the areas where the beds are placed and there were bugs around the bathroom and room. All over I would recommend this place to a friend when needing a place to stay in Childers. Owners were also lovely and never had any difficulty.

DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CARD DETAILS ESPECIALLY YOUR 3 DIGIT PIN ON THE BACK OF YOUR CARD, THEY’LL SKIM YOUR CARD. GIVE A FAKE 3 DIGIT PIN INSTEAD WHEN BOOKING.
Don’t bother staying here! Pets allowed, so you pay an extra $20 cleaning fee, that’s fair enough, but then they illegally charge your account another $50 hours after you leave & send a rude text msg saying they have.
The shower didn’t work so we couldn’t shower, so I had to get the manager (who then walked in the room to have a look at the shower “with his wet dirty shoes on” whilst it was raining. He then walks around the back of the motel in the red mud, then walks back inside, he did this a couple of times) as I had to go get him twice to try & fix the shower, he already knew it needed a new shower head! & promised to fix it the next day while we were out but didn’t. This the first night, so no showers, pathetic. Then they complain about some red dirt, & charge $50 when they are supposed to clean the rooms when you leave anyway.
Maybe the manager should not have worn his wet dirty shoes through our room. Gave “them the choice” to clean the room daily to “not put them out” so to speak, but they chose not to, then they complain after. We didn’t even wear “shoes” in the room, we don’t even do this at home, it’s habit. We all had thongs, plus who would want to wear wet soggy thongs around a motel room, it was raining all week, so your accusations are ridiculous about wearing shoes in the motel.
My son got a rash all up under his arm, while laying flat on his stomach on the bed, after being in the room for not even half an hour, so had to find a pharmacy for cream & medicine.
This place cost me more money to stay, yet they take an extra $50 from us for something the motel manager did himself.
This place is more like a $60 a night motel if that. Not worth the hassles to stay here.
BTW... To the owner, your pathetic response to the last review is nothing more than justification. We did not check out hastily, as you agreed to this over the phone, our son wanted to hand in the keys, as kids like to do, while we were packing the car... Whilst it was raining, are we supposed to just stand around in the rain? You being the manager had plenty of time to come out & check the room prior to us leaving & even ask us how our stay was, being such a small nice town & people, however no sight of you there after.
Yes my son did get a rash, whether you like it or not, so how about I show the public the photos of my sons arm & the medications along with the receipts. No he’s never had a rash before & no we didn’t have to tell you about it. That’s what reviews are for.
No, we didn’t “finish showers” we were trying to shower, that’s why you had to walk in whilst my son was in the shower, he had to wrap a towel around himself.. remember! So tell the truth & stop lying to the public. The fact you let us stay in a room knowing the shower didn’t work, as well as the air conditioner btw & didn’t fix it before we arrived, yet still charge top dollar, shows disrespect to your guests.
Also even bothering to mention that a 6 year old had wet the bed & threaten to show photos of it, just shows how pathetic your motel really is to the public, so thank you.

We stayed at the Gateway Motel several times when we were building our home in Childers. Coming from interstate each time we found the property to be clean, tidy and the Owners very helpful and full of local knowledge. I would highly recommend to anyone needing to stop in to Childers.😊
