Quick service. Food smelled so good and delicious. The portion for the deep fried soft shell crab could be bigger for the price charged. Other than that all was good.
We had a delicious dining experience. They were very accommodating. Lovely people. Friendly service. I had a delicious seafood salad and two people in our group had seafood tom yum soup, which was highly acclaimed.
A local Thai restaurant at The Spot at Randwick serving classic thai dishes. They have good value lunch special at $9.9 or a lunch set $12.5 where you choose a meats, fried rice/Curry rice or Thai noodles with a entree and a soft drinks. Food was alright here but probably not spicy and salty enough for me. Otherwise it's a great place to dine if you work around the area.
A nice Thai restaurant in the Randwick Spot that offers a wide range of Thai dishes at a great value. The have lunch specials for only $9.9 and a lunch set one main with one entrée and one soft drink for $12.50. There are also many choices of Entrees and I liked the Marinated chicken breast wrapped in fragrant pandan leaves Gai Haw Bai Toey.
Nice service. Tables were a bit sticky for my liking. Flavours were pretty white washed. I'm dissatisfied because the panang curry veg & tofu we ordered didn't seem to contain the herbs we ordered and the potion was RIDICULOUSLY SMALL. There was about one decent bit of tofu chopped up throughout the whole dish. You'd think vegetables were going extinct. smh...
Great laksa, so flavoursome. Nice vibe in the restaurant and great service with a friendly smile.
I started coming here in the 1990s. Recently came here for a holiday from qld. Food is still great staff friendly. Best Thai food ! Seriously
I was pleasantly surprised by the food. Well made and tasty enough for a Thai person me not to complain. The dishes we ordered: tofu basil and chilli stir fry, green curry chicken, Thai papaya salad, barramundi fillet tom yum stir fry, noodles chili basil stir fry and mince chicken salad laab gai. Hands-down, the best dish of the night that I ordered was the barramundi dish, which was YUM, but the portion could be a few pieces more for the price. The fish was perfect, the seasoning was just right amount of chillies I would have asked for it to be extra spicy, but have to consider my colleagues. Laab gai was nice again, I could have used more chillies and lemon. The other dishes were good, no complains from me. What was inedible for me was the som tum Thai Thai papaya salad. It was way too sweet, and drenched in sugary syrup. It should not have been like that. Neither was the papaya 'bruised' enough in the mortar to absorb the seasoning. The service was lovely. Also when I start speaking Thai with them, they were extra helpful, and was able to accommodate a colleague that had severe food allergies and made special dish for her. All the servers were attentive and very friendly, only see them when the table needs clearing or water refilled. We never had to go searching for them. We were all seated at the back section party of 11, it got quite noisy as there were several large parties there as well. Overall, I would definitely come back to Chao Praya again, only next time, I will ask for extra chillies and spices be added to the dish that needed it. Well done.
Chao Praya was not the restaurant I will visit again. I had lunch there from the special menu $10 the rice wide noodles with veggies and chilly sauce. There were very little noodles hardly any and the dish was too sweet. The atmosphere was like clostophovic and uncomfortable.
Wow! They have an absolutely fantastic lunch meal here for $9.90 including a meal, spring roll and drink. The food was a little smaller than other Thai places I have been, but that could just be because of the lunch deal. The great taste definitely makes up for the size!
