Qld Legends. Panic mode today as Northside retailers again snub the customer using a bit of weather as an excuse to knock off early. So there's a bit of rain about - it's Qld mate, you get that! After driving past SIX major bottleshops which were shut by 2pm! (true folks - and you can guess that they were the ones owned by the supermarkets: BWS x2, Liquorland x3 & First Choice), the bloody legends at Champion were doing a roaring trade showing good old Aussie spirit and compassion AND of course customer service. While the other 'fair weather' stores gave us the finger just because there was a bit of wet around. A few local roads get flooded this time of year but I drove there from BG, 10km unhindered in a sedan, no flooding on the road, just a bit squally - what a 50+ year-old Qlder would call 'a bit wet'. Old mate at Champions was stocking the fridges, putting down anti-slip cardboard at the counter and the nice lady at the desk was TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS. Looks like Champions have got a new customer!
