Story

Central Highlands Water is a regional water corporation providing high quality drinking water, sewerage, trade waste and recycled water services to customers in Ballarat and surrounding towns.

Formerly known as the Central Highlands Region Water Authority, it is one of 19 state-owned water businesses operating under the guidance of the Victorian Water Act.

Providing fully integrated catchment-to-tap-to-catchment water services, we collect, store, filter, disinfect and deliver water, and collect and treat wastewater.

This is possibly the most expensive water provider in Victoria. Water rates are up to 40% higher than those in the greater Melbourne metropolitan region. I have had numerous (four) billing errors for a problem which really should have been dealt with CHW. Disappointed. Another instance of how regional Victorians experience disadvantage.

Dealing with Central Highlands water I have found the staff to be rude , unprofessional and downright unhelpful.It takes numerous phone calls to sort out any issue that requires Central highlands water to attend and fix. They lie to customers, lie to plumbers and generally will use any one else as a scapegoat to avoid their responsibilities. Ive encountered this behaviour on numerous occasions so it appears to an entrenched set of behaviours that this entire public service organisation runs with.I am sure by their inefficient attitudes that the real costs to the community are increased due to poor management. Typically come across as a bunch of clowns who think they have the authority to be rude and behave poorly when dealing with the public.
