Did the "Star Gazer" event. Half-moon and city lights a slight issue, but still a brilliant night. Thanks to all the telescopes set up, and the team of helpers.
After going to Pawfield park for dogs walked through to the lake and picnic area. You can walk around , take your dog and have a bbq.
Great team of staff. Professional, friendly and switched on. You don't find that often these days. In house prepared food was surprisingly good and we felt well looked after, has a good atmosphere.Visited onWeekend
Owned by the council the land has been generously lent to the racing industry. As much as they would like to keep it strictly for their own use it is open to the public from 4pm to sunset except on racing days. It has gates that shut securely to keep the horses in so it's a great place to let the dog go for a run, fly kites etc.
One of Melbourne‘s best places… A historical racecourse that is a must visit if you are in Melbourne. A day at the races at Caulfield is intimate pleasant and joyful.
The racecourse reserve is probably one of the best kept secrets of Melbourne. Most people living in Caulfield and surrounding areas aren't even aware that public access to the racecourse is available on non-race days. The main entrance is via the large automatic gate near Pawfield Park, which is located at the roundabout between Glen Eira, Kambrook and Booran roads. Pedestrian access is available via the this entrance as well as via the tunnel from Caulfield station, or a rather unsuspecting gate from Glen Huntly Reserve or Queens Avenue. Once inside, you're able to access the main racetrack as well as the practice tracks, walk past the horse stables and fish in one of two lakes. The second lake is also a stormwater drain and frequented by dog owners where their pets can enjoy a nice swim. The colour of the southern lake is blue because of a dye addition to prevent the reeds drying out. It's meant to be non harmful to pets. Adjacent to the main lake is a parking lot, toilets and barbeque facilities. There's also a large gated off leash area for dogs, although most dogs are seeing running free within the massive expanse of the racecourse. A gated soccer pitch is also available at the southern section. The reserve is frequented by dog owners, families with young kids where they can cycle around, drone pilots and fitness enthusiasts as well since there is also a small exercise area near the northern lake. There are plans to redevelop the space in the near future and it's truly a shame that this space will lose it's natural appeal.
Attended the Think Solutions/Dell event in the Trustees Room, intuitive presentation, well organised. The staff Erica, Prue, and Kiara were all professional, fun, and friendly - great experience/venue
We love the racecourse! It’s always great fun on a race day! My dog loves his walks around the track and even goes for a sneaky swim in the lake! They host some excellent events for the community which are always fun and entertaining for the whole family!
