An excellent place for arranging festivities, and organising events. The parking space has plenty of free parking. The ground is very flat for tent pegging, swings and other fun activities. It is also disable friendly and spacious. The event organisers are complete, very experienced including the food van vendors.nWhenever I go I feel the event is full of fun, events and very well organised.nFire works is very common here.nVisited on Easter and inspite of not being Christian I thoroughly enjoyed there. The glimpses of the event are shown in pictures.nA must visit place.
Castle Hill Easter Show, don’t waste your money on this event. Entry fee $10 per adult for what? Eight dumplings for $14, sugar drinks for $10, soft cone for $7. And parking lady shouting at you for picking up your family on the side of the road not using my indicator, it wasn’t my night. Objectively speaking though, I don’t know why there’s an entry fee for a community event. Could council apply for a grant from the state government and make it for affordable for everyone? For a family of three, for two hours we’ve spent $97 on entry and food. The only thing was meeting two friendly store owners, the honey shop and the timber chopping board couple but there wasn’t much business for them. I bought one tub of honey. In conclusion, I have learned my lesson, don’t waste money on these events. I hope you have a better experience than me.
Castle Hill Nightmarkets located at Castle Hill Showground every first Saturday of each month from 5pm to 10pm. The photos were taken last Saturday, 5 October 2024, and my very first time to check this out. To start with, parking spots are free and reasonably spacious. There are rangers around to guide incoming cars where the vacant spots are. Noticeably, there are only 2 spots for disabled parking and the marks are not even clear enough so for people with disabilities, must arrive at this venue before 6pm to secure these two spots right at the entrance of the showground.nnThe whole sides of the ground is surrounded with the stalls whilst the middle part is for the visitors to either stand on or set up their own portable tables and chairs. Access to rubbish bins are handy as they are located in the mid part of the ground which are often cleared. As you enter the ground, the left side is where the food stalls are lined up. After which, the kids' rides not free, you have to buy tickets, and then the stalls for novelties dry goods. There was no stall for pot or indoor plants & garden accessories which was very disappointing. In the food selection, there is no stall for ice cream yogurt compared to Burwood night market.nnIf it's raining, there's no cover or outdoor umbrellas so do check the weather first before deciding to go, or bring your own brolly. The toilet facilities are limited. There's one outside the showground, so do visit that spot first before even entering the showground.nnFOOD: there are varieties to choose from. To start with, I tried the BBQs Pork, Chicken & Isaw in the Filipino Kalye stall. Each cost $5 per skewer. I cannot find any fault on each. They were very tasty and presented exactly how BBQs should be served. The only let down was there was no accompanying sauce e.g. vinegar w/ with the skewers. Their Calamansi juice cost $5 per cup was a good pair to the BBQs as you enjoy each bite.nnNext I tried was the Paella mixed meat and at $18 per serve medium sized Chinese container, it's affordable. I took a photo of it so you have an idea. If you're really starving, this is a good filler. The taste is not so overpowering. Do not expect perfection especially sauce-wise. They added one large prawn on top which was not peeled so make sure you bring a wet towelette or tissue with you or run to the toilet outside to wash your hands.nnThe Twist Potato on stick with cheese flavour was great. It was worth the buy because it's really tasty and crunchy compared to others I had in other street food outlets.nnI also tried the ice cream cone next to the coffee stall. That was the final touch. At this point, I'm already stuffed but did a couple of laps ground tour of the ground so that eases somehow. Left the venue at around 8pm since there was nothing else to do other than watch people walking with their dogs. Do not expect shows e.g. singing or live band or loud music happening as there's none.nnOverall, it was a good trip to Castle Hill.
Castle Hill Easter show was abit disappointing... Came in through the front gate looked around was gonna leave for about $20 online booking not worth going to... Only live action was the Rock n Roll wrestling but looked to fake n staged to even feel excited, then the kids went on the bumper car ride too 20mins to buy tickets coated $10 a car n not part of the daily unlimited rides wristband package.. For around 5mins ride.. Kids should of loved it but some big guy hit them from behind at full force n hurt my sons ears he was in pain... No fun in that so parents be aware better go on the ride with your kids like this one n not let the kids go together.. I can't give more than 2 stars sorry was disappointed
Nice open space for any event. Closed to the Metro station...
