Knights Field is a prominent baseball field located within Fred Caterson Reserve in Castle Hill, New South Wales. The Castle Hill Knights Baseball Club, established in 1983, utilizes this field and has a proud history of developing t-ball and baseball players in the region. nnFred Caterson Reserve spans approximately 58 hectares and serves as a multifaceted recreational area. Its origins trace back to 1861 when the land was designated as a potential village site. By 1895, it was officially dedicated to the people of New South Wales for public recreation. The reserve was named in 1981 to honor Fred Caterson, a dedicated local councillor who served The Hills Shire from 1956 to 1959 and again from 1962 to 1990. He also held the position of Deputy Shire President during his tenure and was instrumental in advocating for the development of recreational and sporting facilities in the area. nnOver the years, Fred Caterson Reserve has evolved to accommodate various sports and community activities. In 1992, Castle Hill United Football Club constructed its clubhouse adjacent to Field 1 within the reserve, enhancing facilities for players and spectators alike. Additionally, the reserve features amenities for soccer, cricket, tennis, BMX racing, and remote-control car racing, reflecting its commitment to diverse recreational pursuits.
