We Love this area, in A section. Excellent access to the beach, amenities and local shops. The bike riding paths are fantastic The Rangers make sure everything is right and are very responsive to any concerns. You obviously hear road noise but it’s not overwhelming and security ensure there is no loud noise after 11pm. Then of course you have one of the safest beaches on the Peninsula. See you next year Capel Sound.
Good location to have ocean view and a nice walk along the beach. It’s quite windy and not much shades in the middle. Be aware when you choose the site number. It’s soft ground so it’s important to prepare the stronger pegs or sand pegs for sure. Easy to go to coffee shop cross street, gas station, grocery. Self check in process was smooth and effortless.
Generally big sites, with walking distance to beach 20m, clean amenities that are looked after daily. Amazing beach for kids, very shallow for about 100m or so.
The most beautiful foreshore campground ever! So pretty and only spend 10seconds to the beach. Highly recommend to people who want to camp beside the beach and want to have Seaview from tent. Best fit for paddle, boat, swimming etc. Fire pit not allowed, no kitchen, have bathroom but not that clean due to too much campsite
Camped start of 2024. Rangers much more relaxed this year than last year. Clean toilets and security patrolling. Good communication and clean beaches.
I've been coming to Capel Sound foreshore campground for quite a few years now & it never ceases to have a high standard. The camp grounds are always kept in good order, the amenities are cleaned on a daily basis and always look fresh & tidy & the park rangers are always friendly,ready to help out to make sure your stay with them is a great one. If you have any questions or problems you can go to the office on site during business hours and they will try & help you or sort out any problems you may be experiencing.

Overall this is a great place for camping! We have a roof top tent and have plenty of room on an unpowered site. 10 steps to the water and a beautiful sunset made it a great start to our journey down south. The bathrooms are cleanish. Flushing toilets and hot showers. Rubbish bins are everywhere. BBQs available although they seemed quite dirty when we looked. Nothing a scrub couldn’t fix. We stayed the night on site G, plot 14a. We payed for a ‘premium’ site, hoping for a view of the bay as it said on the website, but this site didn’t actually have a view - not a big deal, but something to note when booking! The main road through the town is on the other side of this camp site, so it can get noisy in the morning and late at night. Other campers were respectful and kept to themselves. I recommend this place for the peaceful view, white sand and kookaburras! Enjoy!
We are so blessed to hv this beautiful site in Capel Sound Foreshore! I would recommend sites 16 to 18 unpowered, this spot is great for a sunsets view. But this sites has not much trees for wind wall and shade on summer. The bathrooms and showers were clean. Typical loud as this campsite was close to the busy road.
