Use the end of Leonora Street for picking up and dropping off. Otherwise expect a baffling ordeal. It's right on a major intersection of Canning Highway. There's no parking nearby and the pedestrian access is terrible. This station is central but impractical.
The worst designed train station. What about people with disabilities? It's impossible to drop them off close to the station.
I come to this train station every day, here are my opinions:n-No parkingn-Difficult Pedestrian access from Applecross/Mt Pleasantn-I don't like have two seperate platforms instead of one island Platformn-Bus interchange split in half because of Canning Hwy, making it confusing and lots of time to change busesn-Middle of Freeway to Busy road interchange making it dangerousn-Has reliable train servicesn-Has frequent buses, including 910 which is a high frequency bus routen-You get used to it :
Only station on the south without park and ride car park, yet it's also difficult to drop someone off by car to catch a train or bus. The bus shelter on the southern side faces the sun in the afternoon so serves no purpose at all. The bus service is fairly high frequency though, and 15 minutes for the train isn't too bad either.
Crazy train station, it has a dangerous intersection betweeen Canning Hwy & Kwinana Fwy. Poorly designed with stairs, no escalators. It should be relocated to somewhere like South Perth but understandable of what the PTA Transdev or TransPerth wants to do.
