Pretty underwhelmed I must say, compared to other US universities like UCLA. There should be more merchandise and more varieties.
The woman behind the desk has 0 customer service skills; I believe this job, since it is usually rather slow-paced, is better suited to a deserving student who needs work experience and has the time. It's not a big store and it's generally very quiet, so, I'm sure one or two student employees who deserve it and really need it in these competitive times and who can relate to students more would make for an incredible job opportunity to more willing students who would actually do a good job. Come on UoA, you're not doing yourself any advertising favours when you employee the worst and most incapable people... And that goes well beyond your retail stores.
I believe the university can find someone better to work here who can offer better service. I walked in around noontime, she was playing on her cellphone and didn't even bother to greet me. I was the only customer while I was there. I looked around and couldn't find the T-shirt I was looking for. Asked her about the T-shirt, she stayed behind the counter and said "on your left is male and your right is for female, most of the T-shirts are unisex except xxx". I quickly picked a couple of things for gifts and left the store. She had no willingness to work there.
