3/5nThe toddler area at Caloundra Aquatic Centre is a great setup — it’s shaded, gated, and feels safe for little ones, with grassy spots and chairs for parents to sit around. There’s also a fun slide which is a nice touch.nnHowever, the water in the toddler pool is absolutely freezing and not heated, which really takes away from the experience. Several children were commenting on how cold it was and chose to leave for another pool. It would be much more toddler-friendly if the water was heated.nnThe centre overall could use a major upgrade and a deep clean. The indoor pool has visible staining and what appears to be algae around the edges where the water drains - I was physically able to scratch it off which was gross. The stairs in the undercover pool were extremely filthy, showing what looked like heavy rust stains, and similar staining was noticeable around other pools as well. The slide in the children’s area had green algae underneath the water attachments, and there are visible water stain lines throughout the undercover and children’s pools.nnThe whole facility — including the pool surrounds — would benefit from a thorough gurney and clean. While the layout is good and the toddler area is safe and well thought out, the cleanliness and lack of heating really let the centre down. The facility is definitely in need of an upgrade.
Visited for lap swimming during the week. The lanes were clearly marked and water temperature felt consistent. It wasn’t overly crowded when I went, and the pool area was generally clean. Staff were around but not intrusive.
I swim there once or twice a month and love the heated pools. But I queried a yearly pass and was quoted $700+. Forget I'm a veteran, that is too expensive. And I'm very surprised at the substandard state of the ablutions, considering the active community & tourism we have. They're outdated, wet, smelly and even with my glasses on, I can't tell if the shower drains are mouldy or just old & worn. Not a good look Caloundra and frankly embarrassing.
Perfect for those windy days where the beach isn't an option. Staff and facilities are brilliant. Even do a really yummy coffee which is an awesome surprise. Octopus Pool is great for little ones. Bigger pools are great for more confident littlies. We LOVE this place!
Nice local community pool with polite, friendly and helpful staff. My daughter thoroughly enjoys her swimming classes and the play areas. They also have a lil tuck shop on site if you need a caffeine or sugar fix. There are 4 different pool setups for varying levels as well as a skate park and gym.
