Since 1991 Café Valentino has been one of Christchurch's favourite dining destinations, and it's easy to see why.
Café Valentino offers superb food, an excellent bar and great atmosphere!
Enjoy a drink at the bar choosing from more than 35 selected wines by the glass, a superb range of local boutique and international beers on tap including an Italian selection. Or try a cocktail from our contemporary and classic mix. If you are a wine connoisseur try a wine from our 'Vault' collection which offers over 60 of New Zealand and Australia's finest including a great selection of our world famous Pinot Noir.
Thirst quenched?, time for some great food! Try a pizza, the sort of pizza that only an Italian wood fired oven can produce, or try something from our pasta selection. or perhaps one of our award winning New Zealand beef and lamb dishes.
Since 1997 (except for 2012 when we were destroyed by the earthquake) Café Valentino has been awarded the coveted Gold Plate for New Zealand Beef and Lamb excellence.
Finish off your meal with one of our delicious desserts, everything is made fresh daily on the premises.

Wow....So we were a table of 16 last night at 6.00pm.The place was already busy.The service from our waitress was fantastic.She done a top effort of looking after us.The food wast great.Myself and my wife had the steaks.Both were cooked too perfection and all the food was brought out in a reasonable time considering how busy it was.Highly recommend. Also Try the Zombie cocktail.Packs a heavy punch but tastes divine.Well done all round. Definitely will be back.Thanks

Nice place for a drink with friends not far from central Christchurch. Happy hour drinks are very good value, the staff are friendly and the service is good. Pizza bread and other bar snacks are excellent. Pizza itself is good too.

Hadn't been to the new Valentinos last went to their old premises when they were in Colombo Street. Very nice modern setting in the new premises plenty of tables that could be joined together as bigger dining groups needed. Very pleasant friendly staff great menu choice and food was delicious. Good wine selection also. Although they were very busy service was fast turnaround.

The food was delicious. Proper Italian pizzas, pastas and salads. The seating was comfortable and the staff friendly too. It looks a bit big and empty but don't let this put you off!

This was one of the highly-recommended restaurants by our Christchurch-born B and B owner and yes, it didn't disappoint. Food & service were very good. We had salmon & lamb chops on our 1st dinner and the night after, we tried their huge and tasteful pizza. Perfect! We had great experiences in both instances. Waitstaff who attended to us were friendly, warm, talkative & accommodating. I particularly liked the Indian or Central American-looking waitstaff - very warm, professional & attentive! Sorry forgot to ask her name. Although we had no prior reservations considering this was one of the best restos in Christchurch, we were fortunate to have made it in time for a table for 2. Both nights! One after the other - yessss! :) Talk about luck & good timing! :) Clean & good-smelling restroom. Nice ambiance. What more can you ask for? This place is highly recommended if you want to have great Italian food when in Christchurch. Worth your time, effort & money! Check it out!
