About

Café the preVue is situated on the Ovens river in Wangaratta and is surrounded by appealing parkland. Think food, wine, scenery and a relaxed environment with friendly faces amid the local way of life.

Story

Café the preVue is available for cocktail or any style events, any night of the week. Comfortable capacity is 120 guests. Our chef can create a wide selection of appetizers from which you can customize your own menu. We will work with you on special dietary needs to the best of our ability.

The vue has polished concrete floors which make dancing possible throughout the space, aswell as a very inviting outdoor area overlooking the ovens river and surrounding parkland. Outdoor lighting is sufficient and the bifold doors bring outside in.
Music can be played through a 6 stack cd player, iPod and the venue can also facilitate a band.

Absolutely loved my experience at Cafe PreVue. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt calm, refined, and welcoming — perfect for a relaxed breakfast.nnThe food was exceptional, beautifully presented and full of flavour. You can tell there’s real attention to detail in both the ingredients and the execution. Service was equally impressive — friendly, attentive, and professional without being intrusive.nnWhat stood out most was how peaceful and quiet the space was, making it easy to enjoy good conversation and truly unwind. It’s also a great spot for small groups — we visited as a group of 5–8 and it felt just right.nnOverall, a premium café experience that delivers on quality, service, and ambience. Stopped in for breakfast Saturday. Staff were friendly and easy to deal with.nFood and drinks were good, looked great.nEntertained by local magpies.nGreat location on the Ovens river
It is a beautiful cafe sitting just next to a park with quite a lot of parking availablenCoffee is pretty good!nBut the big breakfast is a bit disappointed, because the scramble egg is over! But the home made tomato sauce is a highlight!nAnd the egg on the toast is also over too!nAlthough it is over, the presentation of the dish is very attractive!nStaff and very attentive and friendly!nThe whole place is warm and welcoming even on a cool morning!
We stopped here about 40 minutes prior to closing time and the lady that assisted us was delightful friendly and told us not to rush at all which was wonderful. We ordered cake and coffee both of which were delicious and well made. The only surprise was at the end paying the bill because it was a Sunday. There was an extra 12.5% added on our bill which meant that the lemon meringue pie per slice was nearly $16. Unfortunately this meant that most of the group decided that although it was lovely they wouldn’t be able to afford to come back again. Two of the people paid approximately $24-$25 for cake and coffee. Except for the prices it would’ve been five stars.
What a lovely, relaxing, and picturesque a location for a cafe. A real little gem. The food was not cheap but it was delicious. Plenty to choose from for vegetarians and gluten free.nPlus after our meal there was a lovely stroll along the river to enjoy.nnBathrooms were also very clean, with everything that one needs available to easily change babies.nnWith water bowls on outside for dogs to sip at. Everyone was certainly catered for at Cafe PreVue.
