Perfect for a relaxed bite to eat, great juices which can be changed to your preferences. All day breakfast, the Muesli is amazing and at a great price. Could sit here all day with a book. The staff are fast and friendly, without making you feel hurried. Couldn't recommend it enough.Food: 5/5
I ordered their pancake stack, which their menu will misleadingly tell you includes a range of other condiments however what came on a plate to me were 2 pancakes with a drizzle of maple syrup and a dollop of whipped cream. Only when I requested was I told that I need to ASK for the condiments possibly pay extra but the waitress knew i would not even though their menu doesn't say so. I went there the previous night for coffee and dessert and loved it so thought to try for breakfast but was disappointed. To add to that, after customers leave their plates are left out for so long that seagulls and pigeons come and eat off of them! My husband had their beef burger and to be fair it was an amazing beef burger which I took several bites out of. It could be that I simply went on a bad day or that this is how they are during their busy periods. I would probably give this another go just for my peace of mind that this is a nice place. To be updated!!
Went here last week with a friend. Decided to go here again after we had been there once before. My friend was happy with her order. I was a little disappointed with the service and the order though the desert one to have with my coffee and another to take home to eat later, were both tasty but a little overpriced. As for my coffee, which I asked for in a mug which I repeated to the guy serving if they did mugs and got told yes but was served my coffee in a cup. When he came passed short time later, I queried it about my coffee given in a cup NOT a mug despite having someone else whom had one in a mug, and was told that there was not that much difference in the size which I though was rather strange. Queried it with another staff member whom walked passed to see whether I had paid for a mug or cup, luckily I wasn't, but was told by her that the guy whom served me said I ordered a cup and she went on to explain about the two cakes I ordered which was worded differently on the receipt to what I ordered. Maybe one should "listen clearly and repeat back the order" if not sure what was asked and make sure to that items either match to what is ordered or for say desert items eg cakes put them into a general category such as Cakes. Not impressed Be mindful that one understands the order when ordering.
Everything good. There were no scrambled eggs in the menu but the waiter kindly ordered one for us. Nice place, good prices.
Early morning breakfast. Lady who served us very friendly. Great service and excellent choices on the menu. We will definitely be back.Food: 5/5
The location is great to enjoy this part of Swanston st. So these two stars are for the location. Ordered big breakfast and salad. Food: below average Costco salad looks more appetising and tastes better, to be very honest. Bacon is very wet and oily; not crispy. Big breakfast is very dry. Only got 1 piece of bread; not a fancy sourdough etc bread, just a simple white bread from a supermarket/ bakery supplier. Customer service: no welcome, no smile and no thank you. Some staff look very, very tired.
I went there for a coffee and cake with some friends. Wasn't that busy, but the tables were messy , nice place to seat and look out on to the street but not a place to go for quality coffee or freindly staff unfortunately Food: 1/5
While there is a nice selection of food it came out cold. The coffee was hot though so that’s a bonus. The price is fair for a large coffee and eggs on toast so value is good. Guy who served me was grumpy and mumbled. I don’t know if he was like this because they were possibly understaffed that time of the morning as he seemed to be doing all the service.
I went here with a friend the other day for coffee and a sandwich. The food was okay - not extraordinary, but okay. The coffee on the other hand simply wasn't good and the service was just bad. There was one employee who was quite nice - the rest was just extremely rude and careless. The atmosphere in general isn't very comfortable. In regard of the poor quality the prices are just too high 18$ for Eggs on Toast? You'll find better Cafés in the area!
Pretty uninspiring place. Thought itd be a nice stop to enjoy some outside air for a catch up. The place feels a bit dirty, the person new had was incredibly 'meh' and offered no warmth or welcome which is cafe basic 101...and the coffee was worse than an instant I could have had at home. Exactly the reason I don't buy coffee these days. But perhaps the fault was mine in selecting this place. Seriously though...I can get past it feeling really dated and a bit dirty...but there's no excuse for not creating a bond with customers with a smile and warm welcome...and certainly not for really average coffee...especially given 1/4 of it was froth. Plenty of other places that would have been a better choice had I not been dragging a heavy case around.
