I love Cafe Kuma. My husband and I have been dining at Cafe Kuma since it opened (c.2000). Kuma is a wonderful host who consistently serves delicious, mouth-watering curries. We've since moved away but are more than happy to travel any distance to experience the wonderful, happy atmosphere that Kuma and his staff create and we regularly do. I also love how Kuma supports his local community/ charities, etc. He is amazing!

Kuma. You are a wonderful man! Your food is always exceptional! I have been going here for 16 years and have never been disappointed The butter chicken is fantastic too Thank-you for all the hard work you do.... Your generosity to charities amazes me We are blessed to have a man like you in our community.

We have tried this place multiple times as it is really close to home, but I won't be going there again. Last night when I ordered I asked him to direct me to the curries on the menu that aren't sweet (as they are always full of sugar) and he told me they are all sweet because we are in Australia. I'm pretty sure there is more than just sugar that they add to the curry to heighten the flavour. I suspect there was quite a lot of MSG. I was wide awake all night, and then starving at 3am. I got only three hours sleep total. Some people have suggested they are packet/jar curry bases, so MSG could be quite likely. I could be wrong...maybe i couldn't sleep for another reason, but it was quite unlike me. I had some of the leftovers for lunch today and didn't feel very well right after....prompting me to write this review. I usually only write positive ones. So on a positive note, Kuma is quite nice and includes has always included free naan when we order. Even free curries. He does great work for the community as evidenced in the articles on the wall outside the restaurant.
