Cafe Amalia

About

French inspired cuisine with beautiful coffee. Located in the leafy, tree-lined streets of the quaint Beatty Avenue shopping precinct.

Story

Tucked away in the leafy backstreets of Armadale Melbourne, is a petite Bistro – Cafe Amalia, owners Catherine White and Imran Hameed, are delighted to share a beautiful, and gentle culinary experience in this lovely pocket of Melbourne.

Set behind a charming period shopfront with old timber doors and stain glass windows, customers dine in a warm and elegant environment, over 3 separate rooms. The old timber floorboards are accompanied by a soft grey palette of luxurious leather banquets, painted concrete flooring and grey veined marble table tops. Whilst gorgeous copper pendants hang lowly in the little window booths, creating a beautiful and intimate backdrop for the feminine, gold logo, designed by Swearwords and hand applied in gold leaf by Vital signs.

We are pleased to have Josh Bell, formerly of Rick Stein's Bannisters creating a French-inspired menu, that is fresh and original. He also presents an array of charcuterie and shared plates, to accompany the fine wines on offer.

Ordered a large soy cap.... I could feel that the cup was burning hot so I waited 5 minutes before even trying it. Took my first sip and scalded my tongue and it had the lovely taste of burnt coffee. Disgusting and way way too hot! Walk down the road to Mammoth if you want a half decent coffee.
Pleasant and uplifting ambiance, nice staff and clientele. Great artwork.
Great patisserie. Cozy place and the cakes, croissants are delicious. best of Melb so far.
Really enjoyed my breakfast experience here today. I ordered the Ham & Brie Omelette and it was absolutely delicious. Great coffee and attentive friendly staff. Nice atmosphere, this was my first visit and will definitely be returning
