The room was comfortable and clean.nnThe boom gate entrance is dreadfully designed, making arrival a frustrating experience.nOn check-in, I was quoted a specific price for breakfast, but when I checked out, I discovered I had been charged more than originally stated. This was later amended.nThere was also no complimentary water provided in the room, yet they had the audacity to charge $9.00 for a bottle — completely unreasonable for a hotel in this category and anyone who has had to experience Toowoomba tap water. When I arrived for breakfast, I was informed that coffee wasn’t included and cost extra, which felt like another cheap way to squeeze money from guests.This i call corporate meannessnnFinally, as I was leaving, the boom gate exit wasn’t working properly, causing even more unnecessary delay and frustration.nnOverall, this hotel fails on both guest experience and value for money.
A very well run hotel establishment in a fantastic location. Our room type was cleverly well thought out, spotlessly clean and well serviced every day. The stand out was what was clearly an authentic country style home cooked breakfast. Highly recommended.
Very overpriced, I will stay elsewhere next time. The room is really pokey, theres an iron but no ironing board. The curtains are not black out, the sunrays come in early, the bed was ok, but if youre wanting a comfortable mattress topper, this is not the hotel for you. The breakfast buffet is not worth the money, very underwhelming experience. Much better quality cafes to have breakfast at, that are very close-by and easy walk. I ordered room service for dinner, the salmon was dry, so dry, it came on top of what I think was mashed potatoes, but honestly looked like vomit, it was pasty and cold. I found the front end staff to be less than welcoming. I stayed in room 304.
The Burke and Wills Hotel is a very traditional high quality country hotel, I spent many nights there in the 1980's and 90's.nThe rooms are generously sized and furniture while it is a little dated, it is comfortable, especially the beds.nThe restaurant once again did not disappoint, the fillet steaks were served exactly as ordered and the chips were hot.nDeserts were also delicious.nThe staff at the hotel were professional, helpful and informative, which helped us organize our visit.nI will definitely book another visit to this hotel in the future, as I know they will care for my family and I very well.nThank you to all the staff.
Good clean new feel. The rooms were on the smaller side but very comfortable. The bathroom was clean with a good sized shower. Fast hot hotter. Good aircon. Small bar fridge with plenty of supplies if needed. The amenities down stairs were great. The food in the restaurant was very good. Staff always friendly and helpful. Great central location to cafes restaurants and the shopping centre.
