Big house run by a old and really nice couple. The prices are fair. The facilties are a bit outdated but clean and in good conditions.

Stayed for two nights and by far the best hostel I visited jet! Peter and Noell are very kind people with heart for their business. They picked me up and dropped me of at the bus stop, showed me the must sees and even arranged for me to touch a Kiwi at the bird reserve! It was clean, comfortable and there was lots of space. It was a 20 min walk into town but small shops are nearby. Would definitely recommend and if I ever return to Whangarei I know where I want to get a place to stay!

The owner Peter is a nice fellow. He's a bit stern but a fair man. 

WiFi is unlimited; none of this 200mbs Zenbu nonsense.

As said before you just have to love the hosts! I got picked up from the bus without asking for it and that saved me searching for the hostel. There I got a welcome as if I was family: with the tour around the house came a personal introduction to the other guests and a summary on which parts of the city are worth a visit and how to get there. Really awesome!
