Was visiting Bundaberg from Victoria to meet a mate for the first time and he took me around to a number of sites. He didn't think it was worth visiting but I asked him to take me there anyway. I was impressed! They were only small but nicely laid out with a cafe, museum (both closed), a special area for weddings (outdoor), lake that one could walk around, tourist railway, toilets, a Japanese garden and a special part of the gardens that were specifically rainforest orientated. There were plenty of types of birds and lizards to interest keen photographers. If the museum and cafe were open one could easily spend half a day there, otherwise it could be traversed in an hour. One interesting feature is the original home (from England) of Bert Hinkler which was dismantled and rebuilt brick by brick on the site. Would recommend a visit.

Plenty to see and do. Most attractions have an entrance fee. Bring a picnic rug and some lunch. Take a train ride through the park. Duck food available from Cafe for 50 cents. Good family day out.

An excellent place to visit as a tourist. Lots more than just the lovely gardens and bird life. Hinkler Hall of Aviation is excellent. Fairymead House Sugar Museum is very interesting and interactive. History Museum and Cafe 1928 on site too. And of the course the Sugar Cane Railways steam trains, excellent and cheap way to get around the gardens and the kids will love it. Plenty to do for adults and kids alike.

Lovely botanical gardens. It is a lovely walk around seeing the birds and turtles. There is also a nice Japanese garden and Chinese garden. Would recommend to visit if you are in Bundaberg.
