Visited here a few times now and have enjoyed my visit every time.nWe have tried the beef cheeks with sweet potato mash, the garlic bacon and cheese cob and the steak with chips. Accompanied by some moscato and beer.nAll of the food has been delicious. The beef cheek is slow cooked so well it just falls apart when touching it with the fork and the mash is super flavourful and smoothnMy partner was very happy with his steak, cooked perfectly to order.nThe cob was a great addition as a starter. The portions are all good sizes and will certainly satisfy your hunger. Prices are okay, I think beef cheeks were $35, steak $45 and cob $14.nStaff is friendly and service is fast. Plenty of seating inside and more outside, partially covered by heating lamps.nWould recommend making a booking for any weekend night otherwise you might have to sit outside.nLove coming here and will continue to do so
Gotvtold by a family member about this place. So while I was stopping over here on the way home from SA I decided to go and check it out.nFirst thing. Book. They were booked out.nWe had to sit at the bar which was ok.nAlot of regulars here as the staff knew first names of more than a few people.nThis tell me that the place is good already.nThe feel of the place is like a not snobby upmarket pub. Love that vibe. Some great mixed drinks on offer and happy hour.nWe got the Salmn special and the scotch from the menu.nMy companion said the salmon was very good.nMy steak was cooked as ordered. Medium rare. I got the special sauce from the menu as well. I cannot remember what is was called but it had mushrooms and was like an old school Dianne sauce. Very nice and sharp.nI would have given 5 stars on the food however, this is were I get picky. The beans with the veg were just a little old. Colour was faded. Also, the steak while bring good should have had a hotter heat on it as the fat on it wasn't rendered down enough. Yes I know. I'm fussy. This is not really a bad thing as I ate the whole thing. I will definitely be back here if a come to Horsham again.
2nd time visit two years apart, still great!nnBeef cheeks were tender and flavourful,nSalt levels were perfect and the jus was incredibly beefynnBruschetta is a personal favourite of mine and is the reason I came back years later.nnService was fast and staff were friendlynDefinitely worth a visit!
Entree arrived followed 30seconds later by the mains, waitress explained that as entree was late we had no idea it was that this is why all the food arrived at the same time. On suggesting we were not ready for mains she said she would take them to the kitchen to be kept warm, great when one was fish & salad. All staff seemed to be in a rush, like speed eating was the criteria. Mains came back 5 minutes later, despite still eating entree. Prawn linguine a disappointment, apart from luke warm the volume of bacon meant it was all you could taste, and the dish apparently included chilli. The photo is what was removed as I attempted to pick through the pasta and prawns. Spoke to Manager who gave the obligatory apology and quickly moved on. Not recommended.
Came up here from Melbourne. The salmon was inedible, tasted metallic and off. The steak was ordered medium rare came out medium well done. The mash tasted off and not fresh. The peppercorn sauce and roasted veggies were not bad and ate them as we were starving. Don’t recommend. Good service though
