Station seriously lacks basic signages and way finders, let alone getting on to platform is quite a unconventional tunnel with no directions. The ticket office is no better. However the saving grace is that not many different lines passes this station so it no confusion on which train to take etc. Also this is the main station which with bus 901 connects to Melbourne airport.
Broadmeadows is a main train station not only for Metro trains but the Vline and XPT train at least. If you are going to Sydney, you have to get to platform 3 and that is via the tunnel or subway. It’s not user friendly for anyone that doesn’t know there way around and it is especially not user friendly for aged, hurt, disabled in anyway or for that matter parents with children.nnThis station is in desperate need of an update with an over pass and a lift to get people to where there need to go. There is also very little signage around that gives decent directions and there are a lot of turns that for people that have not been here, or not much it is or can be confusing.nnWe spent a lot of time trying to find a way to get to the side of platform 3 but it was a loss. If you need to get to platform 3 look for Anglicare in Broadmeadows because it’s opposite platform 3.nnIt’s also a very dark place at night, I say this because I have taken the train from here before, so safety is something that needs to be addressed.nnParking: Yes there is some car parks on Pascoe Vale Rd side along with the public buses. However, the car park needs updating because it’s a tripping hazard if you have a walking stick or anything like that.
It's fine for a train station, multiple points of access and numerous bus services. The underground area to access platforms 2 and 3 could be improved a fair bit in terms of signage and illumination.
Needs an upgrade… walking under tracks to get to other side is not good! Overall the station feels unsafe as I have witnessed many bad things fights with batons, a lady jumping in front of a train etc.
This train station sums up where we are at in Victoria perfectly, it's a filthy crime riddled station and the local community have no dignity so it will never be any better.....just like the rest of Victoria.
