Brisbane Independent School’s mission is to nurture, develop and trust our pupils’ innate love of learning and positive values, and to produce graduates who are respectful, confident, competent and self-motivated, with the skills necessary for life-long learning in all facets of their lives.

I have two children at Brisbane Independent School, and for me it was definitely worth the switch from the state school system. It's a bit out of the way for me but they're offering after-school care now which helps. Both my kids are super bright, with particular learning and development needs. They are now getting a really tailored learning experience and are so much happier to be going to school each day, even while being challenged educationally. They still have days where things don't go their way, but BIS (with a high teacher to student ratio and teachers who are skilled up and passionate about developmental theory) is well-equipped to deal with issues that arise among the students. The other kids at the school are growing into fantastic, mature thinkers and the school has a lovely community feel.
