This is a great park to walk around for a break from the city feel of downtown Brisbane. It is quiet and well kept, and entrance is free. There is a lovely pond dappled in water lilies - look for the enormous eel that lives inside! I also saw a kookaburra here for the first time, and a few other species of birds. There are lovely trees and grassy areas, perfect for relaxing and reading a good book. Definitely worth stopping by.

The loveliest garden in all of Brisbane, great place to relax and read in or walk or ride bikes. Plus play areas for children. On weekends there is always something going on. Great little maps for children to fill in and explore. All within easy walk from the city Centre and most hotels. Also there is a brilliant walking and bicycle bridge that links to South Bank. Where there is SO much for family to do. Bring swimsuits as there is a wonderful beach and pool

Amazing place to go and hang out with family. Great for lunch and a break away from busy city life. Plenty of places for the kids to run around and play. Well maintained. Only problem is lack of parking at the park but plenty of public transport options to get there.

The Brisbane Botanic Gardens were amazing to walk through. They paths are well kept, the playground kept the kids entertained and there were many benches and open spaces to relax. We walked around the entire gardens seeing beautiful views of the city and river. The lily pad covered ponds were beautiful, truly a memorable place.

Thought this would be a great free place to go for an hour, instead four hours later we departed having taken in the access to the Goodwill Bridge , views of the river, the mangroves, the lagoon at the top, the Lily pond at the bottom, the various children's parks the bamboo path and many other things in between. We had a fantastic day even having a picnic in the park. This is a brilliant way for anyone to spend a few hours in the middle of the city in a calm oasis of an environment
