I am not happy with my recent visit to a Doctor at Breed street Clinic. I spent a few minutes in consultation to request a whooping cough injection and ask about a blemish on my skin. The doctor didn't examine my skin and stated that it looked fine while sitting in her chair. She then walked me to the nurses area to have the needle. I questioned the cost of $85 for the consultation, happy to pay the $44 for the needle on top of that but after sighting a sign that said $30 for a 5 minute consultation I asked the receptionist to check with the doctor if the cost was correct. She came back after several minutes and said that the doctor had my file open on the computer for 7 minutes and 30 seconds so it was over the 5 minute limit. I suggested that she opened my file before I entered the room and left it open when she walked me to the area to have my needle so my consultation had in fact been within the 5 minute limit. After 15 minutes of trying to rectify this over charging, I was told the payment had aleady been put through so nothing they could do. I will not go back and I was disappointed with the doctors lack of interest and the over charging. I would recommend that nobody go to Breed street clinic, you will never get the care you need and you will be robbed. No stars! But I had to put one star to post this comment!
I had to wait a while, but due to other patients care. My Doctor was very caring, and extremely sensitive to my needs. I felt over all my experience was handled with care and compassion.
This was once a good clinic with numerous Doctors. The waiting rooms were always full. Now you are lucky if you have a regular Doctor of any standing. Wait time is unbelievably long if you want an appointment. Waiting rooms are now empty or near to it. I believe management to be the major problem as when they took over,..... the practice went down hill. I have observed that a lot of very good Doctors have moved on or retired. Some that stay do not deserve the title of Doctor. I am one who is very lucky to have one of the good Doctors.
I have nothing but admiration for the staff and doctors. I have been a client for nearly fifty years. My late wife Loretta and I would never consider changing clinics. The understanding and empathy is fantastic. Thank you all Barry Switzer
This clinic is a disgrace. Needed a Pathology blood test request form to get a blood test prior to my annual checkup. Informed that they could no longer give me one without a Dr. phone consultation, and that it would be bulk billed. After the consultation taking less than 2 minutes, I received a bill for $55. This is ripping of both the medicare system and the customer. In the past this has not been the case. Very disappointing.
Hubby and I needed some travel vaccinations. Waited over a month for the 1st appointment and was told that the nurse could give vaccination on the day to start process. Appointment comes and apparently no nurses they all quit. Had to have another appointment! We were charged for the first consult and now this means a an additional visit! Next appointment Hubby waits 50 min with ZERO other people in the waiting room, eventually goes up and then leaves- no jab. Next appointment/first vaccination goes to plan Actually not good enough! Do not recommend!
Breed street clinic was amazing . I didn’t wait long . The staff members were very friendly , smiling with a greeting when I approached the desk . Doctor Vian took her time to listen and was very thorough .
First visit to my new doctor, who is very helpful and happy to take me on. 3 stars because I have had a long association with this clinic and been very satisfied. Not happy that bulk billing has ceased during these hard times. Not happy that I was unable to obtain recent Covid prescription in time when my records are on file, and my phone is not reliable. Since been told by a friend that a prescription can be obtained in advance before you test positive, would have been good idea for people home alone to get the medicine delivered in time. I am now OK.
The desk staff have always been polite and very kind. Often I am in pain, and cannot think right. They have been very kind in explaining things again, and again. Dr Field is excellent, very skilled and very kind also.
I booked BCG vaccination over the phone, after one month I went to appointment and nurse said we don’t do BCG here. N I canceled my appointment at Monash just because their receptionists are dumb. They done nothing n told me it’s bulk billed. I have no idea what they were charging for. Such a terrible experience
