Always stay here since the family breakup stopped us staying on the family property. But honestly, wouldn’t have it any other way. Breakers is awesome and peaceful unless you get noisey neighbours and you feel safe. Every ground floor room is right on the pool but don’t worry, there are pool gates on all the room doors as well as sliding doors so little ones cannot get outside unless they climb like Tarzan or George of the Jungle lolnWifi, selected Sky channels and a dvd player that you can borrow dvds from reception to watch or take your own with you. In the one bedroom options, there is a tv in the main room as pictured and another in the second room. So awesome.
The review is given purely for atrocious client service, as we didn’t end up actually staying there. We booked a room online a full year ahead of travel, clearly indicating we only wanted a one night stay. We received a booking confirmation in writing from the property immediately referring to the one night stay period we had requested. Nearly a year later, 4 days before our scheduled stay, the owner contacted us to claim that they couldn’t confirm the booking because they had a minimum stay policy. They “couldn’t understand” how we had been able to make a booking for one night, despite it being their own booking system that we had used. There was no apology for their error or the extreme delay in advising us of it but they offered us a 2 night stay in an inferior room to the one we had booked. We didn’t take up this offer as we had already arranged the rest of our holiday based on the initial booking confirmation and didn’t see why we should be expected to pay for a second night we couldn’t stay. A very disappointing experience, totally opposite to everywhere else we have been in NZ.
This was s clean spacious room for my stay. I really enjoyed the hot spa after a long drive from the far north.
Nice, but nowhere to hang or store anything. We enjoyed it despite that, but nothing exceptional about service, but fine. No real complaints.
Rooms were all right But kind of smelt like cigarettes., The service was not that great the receptionist was very hard to work with an unaccommodating, The location is nice with a nearby beach and A town two walk to with plenty of bakeries and cafes.
