In all my years of motorcycling I have been to countless BP stations around the north island, as well as a few in the south island. I have never had an issue with staff unlocking the pump for me, usually the pump is unlocked within seconds of me picking up the nozzle.

Until this evening, when I stopped at BP Horotiu and the woman there refused to unlock the pump for me as I would not prepay. My bike does not have a fuel gauge - only a low fuel warning light, so I can't prepay as I do not know the exact amount that it will take to fill up. Because of this I told the unhelpful c*** that I would go to another petrol station, and that this was the first time I have ever had an issue with a BP station.

I went to the BP in Rototuna to fill up and got the good service that I can rely on at every non-Horotiu BP station, pump unlocked without any dramas. Went for a ride, filled up again on the way home this time at BP Tristram Street, again no issues. Unlike BP Horotiu.

Since the owner of BP Horotiu is responding to some of the reviews, tell me, which BP stations do you think I will keep purchasing my petrol from? Which will I recommend to people, and which will I advise people to avoid?

Staff were cordial and efficient in spite of a lot of customers waiting. We had a decent experience here.

Big. Snack food with hot and cold drinks. If you are on a long drive and need a place to refuel then don't drive another minute. Just stop here...seating area inside with plenty of parking and restroom.

Great spot to stop, freshen up, fuel up, and grab something to eat. Really friendly and helpful staff
